    I don't even think Denmark would be interested! The country has enough to worry about as it is, without spending ressources to secure a port far from home, and not easily defended.

    The russian are hard pressed, henve they are already sueing for peace. But is this only a separate peace between russia and Sweden? What about the war between Russia and Germany?

    Bring out the heavy guns! Will be interesting to see the stamina of the Russians ITTL. IOTL during WWII it was impossible to either bomb or starve out Skt. Pertsburg/ Leningrad, maybe without communism and loosing on all fronts, the Russians will surrender more easily....or then again maybe not.

    Well it depends if you are meaning Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Norway) or the Nordic countries (The sbove + Iceland, Finland, Greenland and Faroe Islands). If you mean the latter, Iceland would be a good choice, isolated and small in numbers as it is, but big in territory. It is less likely...

    [ I'm assuming that it is the Allies who are continuing appeassement, hence the natural step prior to the Polish invasion was the seizure of rump Czechoslovakia. IOTL Hitler didn't anticipate France and the UK declaring war....so ITTL for Germany the settings are the same, and Germany...

    Not quite as simple as that IMHO. The Allies could also not get permission from Norway and Sweden to carry out their plan.... In addition the Finns didn't think that the suggested Allied contribution would make a difference, hence it was too small, and therefor never officially requested...

    It is indeed a interesting fact, but it is doubtfull it the UK and France would carry out a relief operation to Finland ITTL. Remember IOTL one of the main reasons for the planned support operation to Finland was to go through Norway and Sweden to cut off the iron ore being delivered to Germany...

    None as far as I am aware. But he UK had a strong interest in Cyprus, the Island having been a British possesion until 1960, besides the UK having bases on the Island. This the British wanted to keep, in order to have a strong position in the Eastern Mediterreanean.
