  1. Maid of Norway, Queen of Scotland: A Plantagenet Britain Timeline

Just adding, too, those lords with English estates might want to add to their retinue with some of their Scots vassals. that would avoid the Scylla of apparent subordination to England and the Charybdis of angering Longshanks.
  2. Maid of Norway, Queen of Scotland: A Plantagenet Britain Timeline

Some Scots might be quite happy to join in for the chance of 'glory' (read loot/ransoms). Margaret might be well advised to offer that option.
  3. A Better Rifle at Halloween

Re the earlier comments on radio traffic, Drachinfel did a video on radio sigint in the North Sea during WW1. Paraphrasing outrageously, the German radio discipline was somewhat shite, broadcasting at full power about almost everything, whereas the RN basically only used it when flag signalling...
  4. A Better Rifle at Halloween

Well, MUI the Germans were very well trained - but were the Japanese. The Japanese have the advantage of a number of their personnel having seen actual combat.
  5. A Better Rifle at Halloween

Ah, yes, I guessed it - "the General danced at Dawn", "McAuslin in the rough".
  6. A Better Rifle at Halloween

Given what he and his crew believe they saw, I expect it to be a "he said, but he said" until after the war. Now, how he handles the truth afterwards could be interesting. War crimes trial or suicide?
  7. Malaya What If

    Indeed! that was disgraceful!
  8. Malaya What If

I had a teacher whose dad was at Adelaide Oval during that test. Apparently he had to be physically restrained from jumping the fence and trying to punch Jardine - the dad, not the teacher!
  9. Malaya What If

Bodyline! :evilupset: Boo! Hiss! "There are two teams out there - and only one is playing cricket!"
  10. WI: Moreau accepts command of US Army in War of 1812

Moreau was a rival of Bonaparte's I believe, so may be not. But then, when has propaganda worried about such niceties?
  11. Maid of Norway, Queen of Scotland: A Plantagenet Britain Timeline

If Margaret does indeed get Eduoard a 'boy dog' puppy, there may need to be some explanation as to a certain activity which may well occur when Oslo comes into heat!
  12. Malaya What If

Cannot remember the name, Drachinifel did a video about it, calling it a stealth battleship. Happened in 1940, after Dunkirk. The RN managed to sneak it in at night, under cover of an air raid to shell an assembly of barges etc for Sealion. German shad no idea they were being shelled for some...
  13. Sir John Valentine Carden Survives. Part 2.

I find the use offputting. Far prefer to read Commonwealth or Imperial forces when referring to troops etc from the British Empire and Commonwealth.
  14. Malaya What If

Definitely, that is what we called them as children - I only knew the term "bb gun" 'thanks' to the amount of US content on Aussie television.
  15. Maid of Norway, Queen of Scotland: A Plantagenet Britain Timeline

Plus, Margaret is queen de jure, while Yolande is queen by marriage; I think that means Margaret outranks her.
  16. Malaya What If

Just a minor nit, probably an oversight, it would be 'George VI' not George V.
  17. Sir John Valentine Carden Survives. Part 2.

As in, "they love to hate them"?
  18. Most feasible way the Nazis could have attacked US territory?

Wasn't there a plan in 1945 for a sub to tow some form of V2 to launch at New York? I seem to remember reading about it years ago. Though, how realistic it would be...?
  19. Sir John Valentine Carden Survives. Part 2.

Ah, memories. I learnt it too - 1976.
  20. Sir John Valentine Carden Survives. Part 2.

Should I add Vegemite or pie floaters to the mix?
