Other than Charles V of the HRE, are there any monarchs in history who have split their realms between heirs on the deaths?
As someone who likes the Targaryan Invasion of Europe mod, i have to ask-is there any way of making one simple change to it-having Dragonstone located near Greece, or in the Black Sea instead of where it currently is?
Not going to happen. She was a woman in a mans world. She kept her throne by playing people off against each other within the constructs of the society of the day.
In other word, she might have rocked the boat but she didnt try to sink the thing. Had she gone all out, she wouldnt have lasted
Id much prefer, as a way of reflecting the independence of the Lords Paramount, things such as refusing to provide levies if they arent loyal enough to the Iron Throne, or events where they refuse to pay taxes etc, rather than basically obliterating a unified Westeros every time a tiny war...
As far as i know, its permanent.
Its incredibly irritating, especially if, during your war, two of your temporarily independent vassals get involved in seperate wars. When your war ends, everyone else returns to the fold except those involved in their seperate war. Its infuriating.
Any major changes?
One change i would dearly love is if they did away with the various kingdoms becoming technically independent whenever you go to war.
Nah. Its a semi-dictatorial petro state with no actual economy and a large army. Take the oil wealth out of the equation, which is exactly whats happening, and its only response is to play with its army to distract its people from its shoddy foundations and looming catastrophe
