Creator of the excellent and often very amusing “Things that look like alternate history, but aren't” thread. It serves as a showcase for various curiosities and obscure trivia from real history that are in sharp contrast with the simplified, popular image, making them look fairly out of place - as if they came from an actual alternate timeline. The thread is pretty much the poster child for the old sayings “You couldn't make this stuff up” or “Fact/Reality is often stranger than fiction”.
