Your Obedient Client, Hilderic | Roman-Vandal Client Kingdom

463- In mid-January, what will be known to historians as the Eudocian Conspiracy took place. Led by former Roman princess Eudocia and Roman-Moorish prince Masuma, they sought to kill the King of The Vandals. The conspiracy was formed due to religious differences between Eudocia, a Catholic and her husband Huneric, an Arian and son of the King. She looked for the aid of Masuma, a prince of the kingdom of Altava who sought Vandal independence. With a band of Roman-Moors, the conspiracy was in place.

The princess and a group of armed Roman Moors entered the chamber of her husband Huneric. While he was sleeping, Eudocia ordered each of the men to stab him in the chest, one by one. The men did so, killing the heir to the Vandalic throne.

Meanwhile, Masuma was waiting outside of the palace with a mob of people. They were carrying torches, axes, swords- basically any weapon they could get their hands on.

Inside the palace was Genseric, King of the Vandals. He had heard of the death of his son, and that they were coming for him. Refusing to die at the hands of a riot, he stabbed himself with a sword, muttering the famous words, "I was raised a bastard, but will die a king."

Now with the death of the king and heir, who will become king? With hearing of the political situation in Africa, a power who thought all hope was lost stepped in- Rome.

Any thoughts? Constructive criticism would be appreciated.
