WI: W. Churchill the Yankophobe

OTL Churchill is known as having an american mother, having a like of america itself and seeking to connect Britain more closely with the US, special relationship ect. However he was a great lover of the british empire, hardly the embodiment of american values.

In this timeline by the time Winston is an adult he has become an anti-american despite his mother's birthplace, everything american is to some degree tainted in his eye and finds american influence pernicious. Good anglo-american relations are to this Churchill pointless if not actually undesirable except in extraordinary circumstances.

To be clear the new Churchill is an anti american of the right-wing type, his criticisms are not anti-imperialist is nature.

So how does his life and career play out differently with this different attitude?

A strong Hail Britannia Churchill could come about by having him take after his Father, adopting a more aristocratic, managed society and international order which only dispassionate Britain can provide the balancing force in. Perhaps this stems from taking up his fathers stance on Ulster, beleiving the honor and legitimacy of the Empire was on trial in Ireland. That would result in him likely joining the Liberal Unionists and thus cohalition partners with the Tories, pulling him a bit to the Right based on socialization and experiences. Staying on their side,he could a reputation as a party Hopper and, likely, dosen't end up in such a high position in the Admirality at the start of WW 1, so avoiding the Gallipoli reputation.

There is no possibility of him becoming PM in TTL, particularly in 1940. GB needs the US to be at least a friendly neutral in the interwar period, The US was the biggest counter it could have against Germany and it wouldn't jeopardize that by having an anti-American PM. Winston Churchill, if he gets into politics at all, remains an obscure MP.
