WI indian - british war

in 1961 Inda invaded Goa and took it from portugal, in accordance with the treaty of windsor portugal then asked the uk for miltary aid , but they refused.
WI the Uk had interviend? if this is too far fetched then what POD prior to this could there be to maken the uk help?

Fight India, a friendly Commonwealth nation, in the midst of the Cold War and British decolonialisation and overall military retrenchment, whilst engaged in SE Asia and the Middle East, for the unfashionable colonial legacy of an undemocratic Portugal? No way. They might have been our oldest ally, but not for that.

ATL - can't think of it, short of the British-Indian situation being an ongoing war for independence, which would mean a very different/no WW2 and thus a very different 1961 world situation, Then why would India be trying to snatch up easy pickings like Goa?
