WI Himalayas much taller?

I remember hearing once that the Himalayas were up 65,000 feet tall at one time (this seems like it might be wrong)

Let's say they still were, along with the plateau being about 50000 feet. At 13/10 miles this generally pokes right thru the breathable atmosphere and even the weather.

What effect would this have on history, and the weather and world climate?

It's been a (long) while, but I remember being told in one or more undergraduate geology classes that the Himalayas are about as tall as mountains can get on Earth, given the strength of rocks, the thickness of the continental crust before melting, etc. If my memory is even close to correct, 50,000 feet above sea level is out of reach.

If Atlantic subduction started, we could have Andean-sized mountains and volcanoes along the East Coast of North and/or South America. It might be fun to think about how that would change European colonization.
