WI Gregor Mendel's Work on Hereditary Biology is Noticed In Its First Publication?

So, IOTL, Gregor Mendel's revolutionary work on hereditary genetics wasn't discovered until decades after his death, in the 20th century! What if, when he publishes it first, it becomes noticed and is received globally?

I think Darwin will want to meet this man, because IRL Darwin knew that the main problem with his own theories was that they didn't explain how genes are passed on.

This would advance our understanding of genetics, although I don't think it means Biopunk technology in the 1930s or something like that.

IIRC, Mendel and Darwin were in correspondence with each other. I can't remember the source of this, though.

At the very least, if Mendel sends a letter to Darwin with an outline of his findings, this could help.

@JonasResende Quite - The Nazis probably get butterflied out, but I think at least the supporters of eugenics may leap on this.
