What if via assassination Goring,Himmler,Speer,Goebbels, or some other high-ranking Nazi official became the leader of the Third Reich before the start of the war? What other timelines deal with a scenario such as this?
I have to see this.Rosenberg's Reich
Rosenberg’s Reich? That’s a new one I havent heard of. Could you link it please. There are some timelines about Nazi Germany having Different Fuhrers such as Rosenberg's Reich, Wagner's Germany and Weber's Germany: The Veterinarian Totalitarian. All of those TLs star the likes of Alfred Rosenberg, Heinrich Wagner and Friedrich Weber.
Do it.Rosenberg’s Reich? That’s a new one I havent heard of. Could you link it please.
I’ve been tinkering with the idea of a Wilhelm Frick-ruled Germany with Hitler assassinated in 1934 by a disgruntled SA man who wished for the ‘Second Revolution’ just after Hitler combines the offices of Reich President and Reich Chancellor into the Führer.
The reason Frick comes to power instead of the others is that the Beer Hall Putsch is much bloodier than OTL with Göring, Hess, Weber and Wagner dying in the engagement.
Frick is thus the Deputy Führer and Minister of the Interior and quickly gets the loyalty of the Party, the SS and the military to purge the SA in late 1934 in a much bloodier Knight of the Long Knives. The reason the SA wasn’t purged when it was OTL is that TTL Hitler hesitated to purge one of the few old comrades he had left since so many had died before. Pretty much only Röhm, Frick, Goebbels and Himmler and Rosenberg are some of the last of the Beer Hall old guard.
But an SA man who was more Socialist than Nationalist wanted Röhm in power to being about the Second Revolution and decided to act. He throws a bomb at Hitler’s car, killing him, Himmler and Rosenberg.
Röhm, though not having anything to do with the assassin, is blamed, arrested and after a show trial is executed. Frick becomes the Second Führer and rules Germany with an iron fist with much more hesitance and caution in international relations than Hitler.
Some things that would have been different would be that Germany would continue to support Chiang Kai-shek and the Nationalists rather than the Japanese, Austria would be annexed in 1937 and oil discovered there (Matzen oil fields). Germany would align with a Fascist/Authoritarian Poland, protecting it from the Soviet Union with parts of western Poland being annexed by Germany as the price of its protection.
This is just some of what I had planned. No idea if it will ever be released but Frick’s Germany: the Authoritative Attorney is something I’d like to do one day.
Interestingly, of the Nuremberg defendants to whom Gustave Gilbert administered the Wechsler-Bellevue IQ test , I believe Julius Streicher scored the absolute lowestI've wanted to put Streicher in charge in a TL because I like "the pedagogic demagogue" and I'm just that much of a lunatic.
Oh, yes. He was probably literally insane - which says something considering his company.Interestingly, of the Nuremberg defendants to whom Gustave Gilbert administered the Wechsler-Bellevue IQ test , I believe Julius Streicher scored the absolute lowest
Insane and dumb-as-a-brick can be quite a dangerous combinationOh, yes. He was probably literally insane - which says something considering his company.
He was too much for the Nazis, that should tell you something.Insane and dumb-as-a-brick can be quite a dangerous combination
Just search Rosenberg’s Reich in the thread titles, it’ll come up.Rosenberg’s Reich? That’s a new one I havent heard of. Could you link it please.
I did. Fan of the concept but it’s not presented in a way I like. Seems all over the place unlike Wagner or Weber.Just search Rosenberg’s Reich in the thread titles, it’ll come up.
