WI: Charlemagne Conquers Eastern Spain Instead of Germany?

OTL, Charlemagne conquered much of Germany, but his attempts to oust the Umayyad from spain failed. Now, i don't know much military history at all, much less during this period, but what if his fortunes were reversed? What if Charlemagne was able to establish a strong base in Iberia, but was unable to subdue most of Germany? His conquests in Italy still go as otl, however

the main reason failed? Umayyad were able to oust any attempt of advance from Marca Hispanica, Sadly the opposite was true and the frankish got the advantage of the Pyrennes..and the main thing is Umayyad were organized and united, unlike the unasorted germans pagans in central europe

If the Umayyads lose heavily against the Franks it might very well be that the state collapses as the Abbassid from the south, Asturians and Franks from the north carve the infant unstable state.
