What would the US look like if the 13 Colonies had been French?

I am toying with a timeline where France not England founds the 13 colonies of the original USA.
Assuming a similar timeline to ours (except France defeats UK in Seven Year War) and there is a revolution in 1776 against the French.

How would the US be different from OTL?

During the short French rule French-speaking minorities in New England (particullary in Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire) would prosper. Maybe that results in them staying "loyal" to France or not joining the *US and forming their own independent state.
Also the French control might decrease German immigration to Pennsylvania a bit, resulting in a culturally less diverse America.

What might be interesting is what would happen to the other French colonies in North America in case of a revolution in the 13 colonies? How would Louisiana and Canada react? Seeing as how a peacefull and fast end of Absolutism isn't in sight for France (certainly not before the 1780s) classic New France might also revolt against injustice from Paris.

If France establishes & maintains colonies (and there will not be 13 of them) along the Atlantic seaboard of N.A. and wins the Seven Year's War (historically called the French and Indian War here in N.A.) the U.S. as we know it is butterflied out of existence. Also, baring an anachronistic set of manipulated events, there's not going to be a rebellion/revolution in TTL's New France in the 1770s.

A New France with OTL Canada and Thirteen colonies may end up as a gigantic French Canada or Quebec wank. Other than that, assuming that the French also has Louisiana, French control of North America would be dominant.
