This is really a question and one I have often thought about.
The US enters the war on schedule in April 1917 and starts building its army. France is on the verge of collapse and is staying afloat only with promises of American troops imminent arrival. The US insists that the submarine threat must be eliminated first or delays for some other reason, perhaps to chase raiders back into Mexico. French troops mutiny as Germany attacks. France collapses. France seeks an armistice and England soon follows to protect their troops in France.
Now the US is at war with a power it cannot strike. Germany is in much the same position. How do they solve the problem?
