I like the idea but Russia in the EU only 8 years after apparently ousting an autocratic (Putin?) regime is complete ASB. Only way I see them being in the EU is if the USSR collapsed in the 60s (perhaps partially due to the Korean War?) and after decades of democratic progress, consolidation and economic growth they get accepted during the 2000s.
