Questions for the Mann.
7 carriers? OK only 2 of these are big fleet carriers but still.

If Hermes and Centaur get these refits why build the Invincible class as per OTL? It carries fewer aircraft and more limited variety. Maybe have them designed as USS Iwo-Jima style amphibious assault ships or an Ocean size ship with ski jump etc for Harriers (nice multirole option here one carrying the assault force, another carrying Harriers for air support).

Ok that's my (hopefully) constructive criticism out of the way and onto the technical stuff.

Centaur and Hermes seem to be intended as purely strike carriers (although the Harrier's performance as a dogfighter changes this somewhat) while the Big Ones are, as expected, proper fleet carriers with Phantoms tasked with CAP duties (given the size of the fleet and the presence of only one Phantom carrier would they be able to spare escorts for the bombers?). 3 different carrier types with different airwing and roles, how will they be replaced?

Ark, Eagle, Hermes & Centaur get these big refits, how much does this extend their service life by. The Midway class lasted until the mid 90s and I can see a bit of a rethink on the cards come Options for Change. Talking of which what with the economy being larger, how does this affect the size of the Army?

Below the hash key is not entirely germane to the scenario but I thought I'd ask anyway.

The aforementioned carriers will undoubtedly require replacement by the 90s, and I think that for the sake of operational efficiency (read due to penny pinching cnuts in the Treasury) that it would be only 1 class of ship, and probably only 3 rather than 4.

Would Britain be able to afford Nuclear powered carriers in this scenario? I'd say better 3 reliable carriers than 2 experimental ones (look at the teething problems the de Gaulle went through).

Last question what would the new class's airwing look like? The Phantom by now is pretty long in the tooth and the Buccaneer ditto, and the Harrier has displayed and unexpected versatility even if it is a touch on the slow side by modern standards.

Will there be some kind of successor type (Osprey perhaps) to replace the Harrier and the Buccaneer with a purpose built strike fighter?

Added in the remaining 3 Type 82's, made the Type 42's Batch 3 equivilant ships (with the B1's being export ships) plus the two CVA-01 class carriers.

Hermes as Commando carrier alongside Bulwark.

I'd say a class of 2-3 Large carriers ~CVF size with either conventional or nuclear propulsion plus a class of 2-3 LHD's around the size of the JCI to replace the smaller ships.

You could always merge it with Argentina's other disputes. Make it Argentina + Bolivia + Peru (+ perhaps Brazil) vs. Britain + Chile.
