Stryker-type Vehicles in the Cold War?

Check out these beauties I've never seen.

While the M38 never made it or the T27, I was thinking of the possibility of the M8 perhaps being used in a much more offensive role perhaps in the Far East? Maybe they're used by Stalin's drive down to Manchuria and their qualities are prized by the Soviet's? Maybe some M8's get encircled with some infantry and are instrumental in bursting out of a cauldron? Either way, increased action leads to more people looking at a wheeled vehicle with a cannon on it as a cheaper alternative to a tank, more experimentation from Korea-Vietnam and favored governments during the cold war get sent "Armored Cars" with armor proofed against shell fragments and autocannons but with tank turrets.

Plausible?
