Today there are some movements toward greater independence in Catalonia. The republicans had one of their strongholds there in the civil war, and Franco was heavily against minorities, so is it conceivable that the civil war turns on linguistic lines, ending it in a negociated peace where the Catalonian, Basque and Galician areas become three independent states, while the Nationalists keep the Castilian-speaking areas?
