(This question is more focused on the Anglosphere generally, but insight on other places would be welcome too.)

Basically, I've seen some TLs where neoliberalism remains a fringe ideology, or is blunted significantly. What I was interested was in the opposite: Could it have been possible to have the neoliberal turn go further than it did under people like Thatcher, Reagan, or Douglas? Because from what I've read, the turn wasn't as severe as it could have been, Reagan was a continuation of previous trends and was only against public-sector unions, Thatcher was reluctant to privatize British Rail and it was only done after her, social spending is continuing to increase slowly (mostly). Are there any alternate politicians or decisions that could have made a sharper turn, with more budget cuts, more deregulation, privatization, etc than in OTL?

Thanks!
