Sealions invading England?

This is a thread dealing with an invader, but not a German-speaking one. Simply put, how could some species of sea lion become an invasive species that finds a niche in England?

More seriously...

What might help would be to have earlier exploitation of Alaskan & Siberian furs by the English, or at least a rich eccentric try to start a 'native' fur industry by sending a breeding population of sea lions to England itself. I don't know anywhere near enough about English ecology, or the life cycle of sea lions, to say how well they'd do.

You could have a POD around the same time as the Mink is introduced, Canadian seals brought over and bred in Scotland on fur farms, maybe the Royal Navy want seal fur collars or something for their parkers, a few escape and hey presto. Job done.

Nice to see an ecological AH though.
