Questions on WW2 Ports in 1940

I'm currently brainstorming a Timeline (or 3) and I realized that my current collection of research resources is a bit lacking on information regarding the British ports of Brighton, Newhaven and Hastings.

I was wondering if anyone had information on what units and defences were in place for these regions from June 1940 - August 1941?
