In 1969, members of Mudiad Amddiffyn Cymru attempted to plant bombs to explode on the railway line used by the royal train. However, the bomb exploded as the bombers were taking it to the railway line in Abergele, Conwy, killing two of the conspirators.
What if this plan hadn't failed instead? What if the bomb had successfully been placed, and as the train passed over the bomb it blew up leading to the death of Prince Charles? What becomes of radical Welsh nationalism (e.g. how hard will they crack down on such movements?)? And what about the Royal family? Obviously now Prince Andrew would be made the Prince of Wales and would be next in line to the throne, but how much of a difference does this make to OTL? Discuss.
