(Inspired by the ARW thread in the book section. The point of this thread is to inspire all you timeline writers out there to get busy! )
What do you think is the earliest possible non ASB chance/date/missed opportunity timeframe for the Colonists to win the Revolution?
One of the earliest possible chances for a British Victory, IMO, would be 1776, either on Long Island or during Washington's retreat across New Jersey.
Or what if the British impose tighter security on their plans to capture Lexington and Concord, preventing Paul Revere from finding out their plans and alerting the townspeople, thus allowing them to capture John and Samuel Adams, the arsenal and burn the two cities in the process? Maybe the Revolution would have in fact remained a regional revolt and not become a full fledged rebellion.
What if Caesar Rodney doesn't make it to Philadelphia?
What if the Battle of Monmouth was a clear decisive victory for one side or the other?
What if the British captured Thomas Jefferson and the Continental Congress during their Charlottesville, VA raid?
What, post Quebec wounding, could have kept Benedict Arnold from turning traitor? What if he had succeeded in selling West Point?
What if General Howe had been more vigorous in prosecuting the war effort, instead of dallying in the good life in New York?
Other suggestions welcome, but timelines are encouraged?
