This will be a series of possible POD's for WW1

1. 3rd August. Admiral de Lapeyrère, assumes that is the Goeben and Breslau will be dealt with by the British if they try and sail west. Thus he deploys "Groupe A" to the east of his area of operations.

2. 4th August. This is confirmed as the right move when the British actually report the direction in which the Goeben and Breslau are sailing.....

3. With "Groupe A" available to cover the west end of the Straits of Messina, Milne places the Inflexible and Indefatigable to cover the east end.

When the Goeben and Breslau exit they are engaged by the British Battlecruisers....

In the above battle the Germans are defeated never getting to Turkey.

Turkish entry into the war is delayed though probably not averted

Not sure how long the delay might be for - Admiral Wilhelm Souchon does not become commander of the Turkish navy on 24th September. Without the support of the powerful German vessels would the Ottomans launch their naval attacks on the 29th October???

The Ottomans have two pre-dreadnoughts Barbaros Hayreddin and Turgut Reis, Two protected cruisers, Hamidiye and Mecidiye, and eight destroyers.

The Russians have 5 pre-dreadnoughts.....

Assuming One of the British Battle Cruisers is destroyed due the breaking Admiralty instructions on handling ammunition (basically what happened at Jutland)

Given the warmer waters and the more ships to rescue crew more survivors are available for the board of enquiry.

Adherence to ammunition handling regulations is enforced. British Battle Cruisers fire slightly slower but do not blow up as easily - effects on Jutland?????
