No General Slim?

What if, instead of simply being injured while commanding the 10th infantry brigade in East Africa, the straying run that wounded him, kills him.

My understanding is that Slim's training, restructuring, and doctrinal changes (defensive boxes) really gummed up the works of the Japanese advance and ultimately helped bring about victory in Burma. Without Slim do we see the campaign still play out similarly or do the Japanese advance further (at least as far as they can with the poor logistics of the region)? Maybe the Brits feel the need to divert troops from Europe in late 42/43 to shore up india?
