The U.S.A. had already been on the road to complete totalitarianism since before this world's Cold War turned hot, and after the war the government decided to go ahead and become officially totalitarian. Russia was partitioned after the war. Most of European Russia became the Russian Republic, while the Asian part became a puppet of the WWU, essentially just used for natural resources.

Ukraine had long been a part of and integrated into Russian culture. They were treated as equals (as most larger ethnic groups had been). They had little reason to secede as they were quite happy living in Russia.

I see.

How did Egypt get some big?

How is India and the Congo?

Probably been asked a thousand times, but out of curiosity what templates do you guys use for your custom MSPaint maps?

I use worlda for smaller one-offs and QBAM for larger projects, ones I need minute detail for, or for regional maps. Both are compatible with paint and there are basemaps both on this site and on the wiki.

...Which one got bad treatment?

The ethnic groups in Kazakhstan and the Caucuses were treated with less sympathy. Not to the point of persecution, but not treated as equals.

If you look at the previous map, Egypt had ownership of the land it has in this map. Probably won't have it for very long, though.
India is doing relatively well, but tension with China continues to escalate.
The Congo is..... Doing fine. They haven't had a lot of time to prepare for the oncoming South African invasion, but they are confident they can stop it.

It should be noted that Democrats were likely responsible for all of these examples.

Georgia under the perpetual leadership of Speaker Tom Murphy (D) came up with some creative ways to shut out the growing Republican trend which came primarily from the Atlanta suburbs.

Then why is the 7th District of Pennsylvania in it's current "Rooster blowing a shitfaced rabbit" configuration? Is there no way for us to get rid of Pat Meehan?

The POD here is that Alfred the Great is killed in the Battle at Nottingham before he could become king, leaving Wessex in a weaker state. Meanwhile, Mercia has better luck against the Danes, and Burgred isn’t driven from his kingdom, and actually manages to gain some of his lands back. As such, the Sussex, Essex, and Kent all fall under Viking rule. Meanwhile, however, the Northumbrians put up a weaker defense, allowing the Danes to hold on to the entirety of Northumbria, rather than lose control over Bernica as-per OTL. A strong king of Mercia takes the throne in the 890s, allowing them to take back their previous possessions, but Wessex never regains control over the OTL Home Counties.

Fast forward to the year 1515. The Kingdom of the Isles managed to take control of much of mainland Scotland, allowing Strathclyde to reassert its independence. Meanwhile, outside of the British Isles, the Byzantines defended against Turkish invasion, the Mongols were driven west by the Chinese and terrorized Europe before settling in OTL Moldova, now called Tatary.Religiously, the power of the Pope waned until Guthrum IV, who attained overlordship over Danelaw, Mercia, and Wessex, and later succeeded his cousin as King of Denmark-Götaland, created his defeated for Aethelstan II of Wessex as Heahfæder (Patriarch) of Canterbury. In 1515, the Patriarch of Canterbury presides over an autocephalous church that holds sway over Britain, Ireland, Denmark-Götaland, Norway, and Sweden. Old Norse is the liturgical language of this church, which has a strong history of monasticism and allows priests to marry.
Elsewhere, Aquitania was elevated to the level of Kingdom by a Pope who wished to punish a King of France who briefly flirted with Canterbury, before elevating the Archbishop of Paris to his own Patriarchate. The final nail in the coffin for the Primacy of Rome was when Holy Roman Emperor Henry III appointed his own puppet Pope, leading the College of Cardinals to meet in Tolosa and nominate their own Pope, who now holds sway over Aquitania, the Spanish kingdoms, Corsica, and Sardinia, while the Roman Pope holds sway over the north of Italy, Venice, and Germany. Southern Italy, meanwhile, along with Poland, Hungary, and Croatia, have drifted into the orbit of the Patriarch of Constantinople, who created autocephalous churches in each region, each church practicing the Latin Rite, but in the local vernacular, all recognizing the Patriarch of Constantinople as first among equals.
In 1391 a Norwegian merchant was blown off couse and landed on OTL Cape Breton Island. Afterwards, a flood of merchants from northern Europe set up trading posts, and merchant-adventurers have set up their own kingdoms in this new land. Trade with the Mecygga (Mexica) has yielded large quantities of gold, and trade with the Erwacce (Arawak) people of the Caribbean has allowed sugar and cacao to flow into Europe, Andalusia, and the Mali Kingdom. OTL Mexico, however, is now essentially a basket case, as disease has weakened traditional authority, and inland states are victimized by their coastal neighbors, who pillage the interior for gold that they can trade to the Europeans in return for steel weapons and armor.

And our colorful cast of nations:

The Free City of London
London started out under Danish rule, along with the rest of the Home Counties. In the 1250s the House of Guthrum, which a century earlier had ruled Danelaw, Northumbria, and Denmark-Götaland directly, and Mercia and Wessex through client kings, fell on hard times. A civil war broke the kingdom in two, as one claimant got the north and the other the south. Then the southern branch died out, and the Londoners, along with the client kings in Sussex, Essex, and Kent, raised armies to prevent the Northern House of Guthrum from taking over.
In the 1380s, a King of Kent tried to unify the Home Counties and extract tribute from London after he finagled his way into being King of Sussex. After three seasons of defeat, London gave up on subtlety and frugality and went in whole hog, spending half the year’s duties on hiring a huge mercenary army that defeated the King. Unsure of what to do next, the Lord Treasurer suggested that London hold the land they took directly rather than use client kings, and settle the mercenaries on the land of the old aristocrats. Thus the Free City entered its Drygejorþe (Dry Land) era. Currently ruled by the Council of Aldermen, the Free City has become a thorn in the side of its neighbors

Wessex.
Ruled by the descendants of the client kings the Danes installed, who then rebelled when King Ivar II was forced off the Danish throne and forced to return to England, the King of Wessex, Æþelbald IV is an ambitious, vigorous young king who has forged an alliance with the Burghers of the towns in his kingdom, Wiltun, Hamwic, Wintanceaster, and others, and granting a level of autonomy to Cornwall, conquered finally in 1321, in return for their loyalty. Thus Æþelbald, with a strong coalition of merchants and minorities, has formed a powerful front in the face of the local aristocracy, allowing him to bypass them more often than not. First on his list is restoring Wessex to the strength it once possessed before the coming of the Danes. To do this he has raised money from the Burghers in return for autonomy from the shires they are a part of, and modernized his forces with new Hocbox (literally hook-box, for their appearance) guns, and cannon as well. From there he plans to lock horns with the Aldermen of London, and restore Saxon rule to the Home Counties, and wrest the territory of Hwicce from Mercia. To do that, he plans to promised the status of Free City, separate from the shire, to some of the more influential aldermen in Brycgstowl (Bristol) if they yield the city without a fight.

Mercia
An elective monarchy, Mercia is currently enjoying a relative level of prosperity. King Ceolwulf V, who died four years earlier, left the kingdom with a surplus of gold and a booming trade with the rest of Europe. The current king, Wygstan III, has continued this policy, allowing him to field huge armies if necessary. In 1210, a previous King of Mercia, petitioned (bribed, really) the Patriarch of Canterbury to restore the old Archdiocese of Lichfield. After Ceolwulf’s death, Edyth, his wife, proposed that her 4-year-old son Ceonred be elected king, but was unsuccessful. Undaunted, the ambitious 24-year-old has recently entered into negotiations with King Ivar V of Northumbria, who has only daughters, to marry her now-8-year-old son off to Ivar’s eldest daughter and heir-presumptive, Gerda, now 11. One way or another, she vows, her son will be King.

Ostangeln
Ostangeln is the last remnant of the old kingdom that Guthrum founded after the Great Heathen Army invaded. The most Danish-influenced part of England, Ostangeln speaks a dialect that has little in common with the English spoken elsewhere, nearly unintelligible to outsiders, too Danish for the English and too English for the Danes. The kingdom has rebounded slightly from its nadir in the late 14th century, when it was forced to pay tribute to both Mercia and London, and has expanded its trade through the caapital of Norvik. King Haakon, a Norwegian, has taken the reigns of power after marrying into the now-extinct House of Guthrum. His rule is shaky, however, as he has little support from the merchants, who see him as a foreigner, or from a faction of the aristocracy who see another nobleman, Sweyn, the Jarl of Lynclene, as a better claimant to the throne. To preserve his rule, Haakon has allied himself with Wygstan of Mercia, and has agreed to pay tribute in return for a guarantee of Mercian assistance should he ever need it.

Northumbria
Under the rule of Ivar V, a descendant of the Danish dynasty that ruled from the Humber to the Firth of Forth for three centuries, Northumbria has grown in prosperity, as the Westland trade has strengthened the power of the merchants at the expense of the traditional landholders. Ivar has taken advantage of this, much like his colleague in Wessex, furthering his ambition. Northumbria looks to the future in order to recreate the past, as Ivar dreams of a day when a Northumbrian house once again rules Ostangeln, the Southeast, and Denmark directly, and extracts tribute and loyalty from Wessex and Mercia. No longer are the Vikings considered foreign occupiers (the Northumbrian dialect of English has twice as many Danish loanwords as the rest of England) rather the rule of the Danish dynasty is seen as Northumbria’s golden age. Ivar seeks to restore that golden age. As such, he plans to marry his daughter, Gerda to Ceondred, the son of the late king of Mercia. If the Mercian nobles won’t accept his son-in-law to be as king after Wygstan dies, perhaps 30,000 men at the gates of Tamworth will change their minds. From there, his family has a loose claim to the throne in Ostangeln, that a few thousand men and their swords will tighten, and the rural aristocracy in the Drygejorþe of London chafe under the rule of the money-grubbing Aldermen.

The Welsh Kingdoms
Powys has fallen on hard times, bearing the brunt of Mercian wrath whenever the King wants to piss on the Welsh using a few petty raids as a pretext, and because access to the sea has grown so important. Powys is seen as backwards and beneath notice, even by Welsh standards.
Gwynedd has grown prosperous by local standards, though still a backwater compared to the English kingdoms or even Strathclyde, as its ports, petty as they are, bring in trade that keeps royal coffers relatively full
Deheubarth is the wealthiest of the Welsh kingdoms, almost as well-off as Ostangeln, the poorest of the English kingdoms. With Aper Tywi (Swansea) and Caer Dydd as its main ports, the Westland trade has enriched the merchants here to the point where they can depose a king they don’t like if need be. As such, the king has entered into a compact with Wessex, promising men and arms in return for Wessex’s protection.

Strathclyde and Albland
Strathclyde is odd mix of celtic and germanic customs. The merchants and nobility have largely transitioned over to what they insist on calling English (though gibberish would be more accurate, if you asked a Northumbrian. The rest of the English peoples insist that the Strathclyde dialect and Northumbrian are the same thing.) The peasantry continue to speak a Brythonic tongue similar to Welsh. The capital of Dumbarton has grown into a prosperous trading town, though it’s been overshadowed by its neighbor Glasgow. Strathclyde has grown adept at making alliances to preserve it’s hard-fought independence, and is now secure that Albland and Northumbria are focused elsewhere.
Albland was founded when a Lord of the Isles managed to win the throne of the Goidelic kingdom that IOTL formed the nucleus of Scotland. They speak a Norse dialect with so many Gaelic loanwords that nobody else seems to be able to understand it- or it could be a Gaelic dialect with an absurd number of Norse loanwords. Nobody really knows. Albland is currently ruled by six-year-old Constantine VI and his regency council, a dysfunctional group of nobles and merchants that manages to alienate both groups, both of whom believe the other is overrepresented.

The Irish Kingdoms
The irish Kingdoms are in their disordered state as usual. The strongest are the Kingdom of Dyflin and the Kingdom of Leinster. Typically the King of Dyflin is also the King of Meath (as is the case right now), and the King of Leinster also has assumed control over Wexford, and has largely defanged the Kingdom of Osraige (a tributary state of Leinster, now) by granting Waterford the status of Free City. Wexford, meanwhile, is a Free City that recognizes the King of Leinster as its overlord whenever the King of Leinster is strong enough to do so. The Kingdom of Munster is divided between sub-kings, one in Limerick and one in Cork, as part of a power-sharing agreement between the burghers of both cities, who hold the reigns of power under an overall King of Munster who has little power along the coast. Connacht is little-changed from centuries ago, and it is seen as a backwater by many. Ulster s divided between the Ui Neill, who hold power inland while being ignored in along the coasts. The town of Doire is an independent town with little to no oversight from anyone, and has gained a reputation of being a wretched hive of smugglers and pirates. In the east of Ulster, the Kingdom of Strathclyde conquered the territory from the Kingdom of the Isles while they were busy incorporating Albland. By sheer force, the Kingdom has enforced its rule upon the coast, while their power further inland is largely theoretical and Irish chiefs hold sway.

There probably (Read: will be) another Argentina-Brazilian conflict.

Will Pakistan-India-Bhutan-Nepal-China fivesome gangbang in the way?

And I sense the truly stupid paranoia of Australian who are afraid "a-country-their-north-will-be taking-that-their-outback-for-lebensraum-eventhough-it's-a-goddamm-forsaken-place-to-live" are going to happen...or at least be attempted

Another Argentina-Brazilian conflict is inevitable.

Don't quite understand the second question.

Nope. After Australia held its own, it's not afraid of Indonesia. Now the WWU as a whole... They'd be pretty scared if the whole Union attacked them.

I mean will there be a war between those five nation simultaneously? Perphas Pakistan-China VS India-Bhutan-Nepal?

Kse Kse Kse whatever happen make it good.

There's a few standard maps that we have. The first, smallest, and most common is WorldA. Those are like the one Skywalker linked.

The second most common, and largest is the Q-BAMs. They're big enough where we haven't worked out all the details on them yet. Here's an example of a Q-BAM:

(WIP of mine)

Last (that I know of) and least common is the WorldM, which is meant to be a midpoint between the previous two. Physical map of that:

My first map that wasn't made entirely on MS Paint: British Argentina! It could be a lot better, certainly. Maybe I'll keep working on it until I'm satisfied (which I'll probably never be :p).
