Here is the (Semi-)Finished Map of my RNG World.

Very nice. What are the ideologies/unifying gimmicks :) of the different blocks? Is there a reason for the non-UCS color of the united states? And I don't seem to be able to find the Russian People's Republic that is supposed to be part of the Association of Free Nations.

best,
Bruce

After the defeat of Japan, there was an attempt to reisntall the rump Dutch colonial government. Divide and conquer tactics employed by the short lived regime did not work out. Nations born were the Republic Indonesia, Borneo and Aceh. I admit though my knowledge of Indonesian politics is limited, I'm open to suggestions :) Eveything is a WIP.

Aceh could not have the whole sumatra best what they can have is Aceh and Riau,North, West, Sumatra Province...
and they would have problem holding on that territory

and no way in Borneo They have too small Population even with East Malaysia
they can be quickly overwhelm in term of Manpower

and no way Soeharto would let Papua be absorbed by another Country without a fight

you could pm me if you want I am Indonesian

If we can work out a customizable utility for this, I can see a lot of quick, easy, and good TLs come from it.

We could have RNGs for ancient, medieval, modern, etc. settings. We could set the RNG POD at a specific date so that we have a starting point: after that the numbers take over, to the chagrin (and utter confusion) of the people involved.

For example, the Soviet Union is just beginning to turn the tide of the German advance. When all of a sudden, BOOM, they get slapped in the face with a 0/100 and everything goes borscht-up for them.

The Germans capitalize on this until they notice that little ol’ Liechtenstein (100/100) has declared a war of annexation on them... and is winning. :D

Well what I was thinking with the Reich occupying all of Europe, the Dutch, Belgian and French governments fled to their respective colonies. The Dutch fled to Indonesia in greater numbers and attempted to carve a new home for themselves in Indonesia. This resulted in a much bloodier conflict which was eventually "mediated" by Britain who carved the area up. Western Papua was taken by Australia to administer and the Dutch regime fought bitterly for survival. What I'm sort of gunning for is an Israel type situation with the locals resisting new comers, but across the globe. Balkanized Indonesia, Congo etc are the intention. Any ideas in regards to this,

The premise I'm working on here (I'm also working on another map for Historyman14) is what a Nazi internal collapse might look like following a "victory" against the Allies. I've borrowed the POD from CalBear's Exceptional Anglo-American Nazi War, as it provides a somewhat plausible way (Close your eyes and stick your fingers in your ears) for the USSR to be defeated by the Reich with some other changes. There are several implausibilities I admit, but I'm keen to take a hand at dividing Europe post Nazi collapse. I've also been inspired by 1.36's excellent Nazi Victory maps which served as a guide for my ideas :) Credit to him for some of the Reich borders.

Excellent map. And now for some of my flood of questions. Are the Franz Josef Islands forgotten by the world as a whole? What happened to the Canaries? Were the Spanish seen as lest trustworthy than the Anglophilic Portuguese, so they lost their colonies? Is Morocco occupying Tangier as an international zone, or preparing to annex it? *Why are Jordan and Palestine split? Did the French try to actively prevent the independence of Syria and Indochina? Why did the Germans give that strip of land in Thrace to Turkey, and did the Turks take large amounts of Turkic or Caucasian refugees? Why did the Soviets give an SSR to that area the Chinese claimed in Tajikistan? Does your map show Denmark being outright annexed to the Reich? Is the German navy or SS keeping Norway semi-independent for their ships and breeding farms? Why did the British give British islands in the West Pacific to the French? Are the Slovenes, Croats, and Montenegrins some of the more loyal citizens of the New Roman Empire? How did the British regain the Channel Islands?

Lot of things, so think of them as possible things you can brainstorm or ignore as you please.

Yep I appreciate the advice, some of the borders will be little warped in places (and the holes in my knowledge of those areas becomes visible )

On Turkey, Thrace was an oversight, I'll correct the borders :) In saying that thousands fled the Caucus region as the USSR collapsed, 1943 was a period of "anything goes" as the Nazis consolidated their victory.

Free France is a weird beast in this TL. De-Gaulle has become obsessed with reuniting metropolitan France, and became increasingly irksome to the Allied governments. When it became apparent that the homeland was not going to be reclaimed anytime soon, Free France tried it's hands at running the remains of the French Empire, but it has been plagued with revolts which resulted in some rather harsh crack-downs on the natives. This has soured relations between the Allies and Free France somewhat, as the French colonial regime loses more and more control over it's former Empire every-day. Syria shifted itself towards Britain as the French regime weakened. Indochina was liberated by the USA/Viet Mihn and French attempts to re-establish authority were half baked at best considering the crummy position they were in. Morroco is occupying Tangiers with the blessing of the Allies as a "Peace-keeper" following weakening grip of the Free French. France I played around with quite a bit, but there are some mistakes that I need to fix (especially in the Pacific) :)

In regards to Spain, I'm actually a bit stuck. Initially I wanted them to actively participate in the war, but then again I'm not sure Franco would be too enthusiastic considering they've just risen from a decade of fighting. I wanted Portugal to be one of the few nations in Europe that is still friendly towards the Allies but I'm open to all suggestions in the Iberia department because at the moment a weird mix of something in the middle:cool:

In regards to Tajikstan, that was an oversight, probably from the base map of the USSR I used. I'll fix it :)

Palestine and Jordan is an area I need help with. I was toying with the idea of Zionists attempting to establish a state, but with the Reich within flying distance that idea doesn't seem like a good one. Open to suggestions.

In regards to Denmark, yep it's outright annexed to help control the Baltic sea. Norway is a host to a string of German naval bases and air bases. Countries with grey internal areas but colored borders are basically SS playgrounds.

The channel islands were invaded in 1943 by the Allies in an attempt to distract the Reich. In short it didn't work, but the Islands remain under British control.

The Roman Empire meanwhile is in an incredibly awkward position. While they aren't outright exploited by the Reich like other nations in Europe, the Italians fear for their future should Mussolini kick the bucket. The annexed Roman territories are not loyal per say, but with the SS kicking around everywhere, they try to keep their heads down.

In saying this, if you see a mistake or something that doesn't look right, please point it out, I appreciate the feedback immensely :D

Maybe part of a non-chronological series.

The Confederate States of America managed to attain independence, but by 1900, the country is an economic basket-case, even after the abolition of slavery. Europe enters a massive war, starting 1909, the CSA enters the war on the side of Germany before 1910 even comes around, in hopes of gaining the Spanish territories in the Caribbean. The USA joins the war in 1914, just in time to administer a beating to the confederacy before the peace treaty in 1915.

The CSA loses almost a million men in the conflict, and hundreds of thousands more thanks to the Dutch Flu which struck in the winters of 1914-1016. The ruling class of the CSA was ruined, planters' sons made up the officer class and their wealth did them no good against bullets. The CSA fell to a socialist revolution, which set about modernising the country. That story is for another map, however.

The war did not have a winner. All the European powers suffered mass internal unrest of various stripes; factories were left empty as the workers left to go on strike; soldiers turned on their officers; and sailors scuttled their own ships.

The Hapsburg Empire collapsed into a civil war, which soon grew to include much of the rest of the Balkans and merged with the Ottomans' civil war. With no outside help forthcoming, the various nationalist, socialist, far-right, and religious groupings fought it out until 1924. In Hungary, Czechia, and Slovakia, coalitions of the far-right won the war. In Greece and Turkey, and what is now Yugoslavia, the nationalists won and established secular republics. In Romania the monarchy remained, with shaky support from the church and ultra-nationalists (who set about 'dealing with' the ethnic minorities; Hungarians, Roma, and Jews). The Ottoman Empire was no more, the Kurds and Armenians had secured their independence, while a large Caucasus Federation had established itself from the Russian Empire, led by the surviving members of the Socialist Labour Party, whose revolution in Petrograd had failed to spread.

As the Germans and Russians began to turn on each other, far-right ideologies took over in France, Spain, Italy, and Great Britain, with their sights set on national revenge. Italy embarked on a campaign in the Balkans to create a new Roman empire. The Great Balkan war lasted from 1929-1938. At its height, the Italian empire had reached Gabrovo, in the middle of Bulgaria. The partisans proved too much, however, and the empire collapsed shortly afterwards, whereupon France opportunistically attacked in the west. The population of the conquered countries, unwilling to trust the leaders who had collaborated with the Italians, turned to the socialist guerillas, supported by American funds and weapons, to lead them. The Federal Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia was the second socialist state in Europe, alongside Albania, which neglected to join the Federation. It was soon joined by Austria and Romania.

Governments in Greece and Turkey found themselves unwilling to accept the new far-left on their doorstep. The First Red War was fought over the course of a mere year as the Greek and Turkish militaries were overwhelmed by the experienced Yugoslavs.

Turkey was struck with a further wave of internal unrest, as reactionaries rose up to restore the Sultan, and the Pontic Greeks and Laz people fought for their independence, supported by Yugoslavia and the Caucasus.

The Third International was founded in 1940, as an alliance between all the socialist states of the world and an organisation dedicated to pursuing the universal truths of socialism (with considerations given to different cultural norms), by ballot or by bullet. The International's first military campaign was in Turkey, where it sought to secure peace by occupying a large chunk of the country. The Workers' Union of Pergamon was created in an attempt to create harmony amongst the Greeks, Turks, and Armenians of those regions. Pergamon was originally a good example of how not to build a multi-ethnic state. The Union was wracked with unrest throughout its existence until the 1990s, when things began to calm down after the landmark Eid Agreement, which created the "two nations, one state" solution (the Armenians had mostly left by the 1970s).

The 40s saw the beginning of decolonisation as Iran, Mesopotamia, and Egypt threw off their oppressors in socialist revolutions. Tunisia did so in the 60s. Other states became independent too, but most were not lefty. The most recent entrant to the International from Europe is Austria, whose dictatorship of Heinrich Heidler collapsed in the 1980s after the dictator's death.

Recently, France, Belgium, and Great Britain are attempting to leave the Russian dominated Eurasian Union. The mysterious death of the British President, who was the instigator and architect of the withdrawal, has delayed the exit. And Mexico has won the 2014 World Cup, held in Italy.

Here we go then.

Mexicans might want Clipperton Island, though having the Yanks take it certainly makes sense.

Perhaps the exiled Norwegian king (son of theprevious Danish king) is symbolically running the show for Greenland and the Faroes islands, in addition to the claims over Bouvet island? I would suggest having him settle down in Iceland, but they already declared a republic, though with the Danish king wishing them the best of luck. May I also ask who controls Svalbard? Can't seem to find who has that shade of blue. *Perhaps it could be thrown together with a a few whalers on the Franz Josef Islands and e various Nordic islands as a sort of mini Solar System for the British, with lots of small groups with a large remnant merchant fleet being in their orbit. Come to think of it, did the Americans end their occupation of Greenland and Iceland, or is there simply more self government now so that they have ships, planes, and troops there, but not interfering with the government?

For Morocco, I imagine that they might want to annex the Spanish Morroco portion immediately, though it could just be seen as like all the rest of the area. Their spoils of war. If so, then you might want the internal borders of the southern regions to be the same color

The West African state looks nice, but I think that Mauretania and Mali had enough history and of a political elite to not need to combine. For Nigeria, the British might take their mandates a bit seriously to counter how the *French would basically try to annex Syria to make up for losing France. Or might the British Cameroons be given as a consolation prize? Though I am guessing that it may have been given in a trade for Togoland.

You seem to have East Timor under Javanese occupation. I am unsure how borders work in that case, but you might want to remove the black ones on the island to show it he island as one, unless other states refuse to recognize this

The Dutch remnants in the Carribean are likely to get the island of St. Martin, which I believe they split with the French. And if one islands remain with the Dutch color, you might want to do the same with Dutch Guiana. That or show the islands as pink as well.

Since the Chinese did not apparently help invade Vietnam in this, would the French have felt the need to give up their treaty port in China? *The Chinese might not have minded as much for them to stay, if they began to grovel more, allowing the Chinese president and leadership to get a kick out of the former masters of Europe kissing their feet.

You show some unclaimed islands off of Venezuela. Same with the Galapagos. I would suggest running with it, and having these be form revolutionary groups. or for the unclaimed ones near Venezuela to Be sold/given to the Dutch. Perhaps while also throwing the internal areas the Dutch claimed from British and French Guiana. I am not saying that the Dutch would be able to threaten others about it, but in the Napoleonic Wars the British liked to throw them a bone by returning islands the Dutch only ever had partial control over, as well as giving them millions.

The coloring around Newfoundland is off, with the eastern portions of the Island showing itself as a dominion, with the rest as Canadian influenced. I can see you are likely going for it being Canadian influenced, though if it is a dominion or crown colony it should probably be given recognition to that effect. Partially because I find orange around light pink as being unpleasant to look at.p, partially because the area has potential for mixing stuff up. Perhaps solidify the border that is disputed between them and Quebec, or show dots for American bases. On the subject of the dominion color, Ireland seems to be the only one with it remaining. Makes a certain amount of sense, as the United States, British, and dirt-poor Nordic islanders are their only realistic trading partners.

For what I shall refer to as Transjordan and Cisjordan, I question how many Zionists would head there. Their first boost came from the three million Jews who did not survive the Holocaust in this map. After a bit of time I imagine that Muslims and Middle-Easterners in general would be fine with the smattering of Jews who come, once it because clear how abhorrent the Nazis are. I expect that Turkey and the Arab states would grumble amongst each other how the Germans annihilated dozens of Muslim ethnic groups in their entirety, though I doubt they would ignore the extermination of the Christians, Jews, and people in general. They might just have different ways of showing it, or may be in competition with each other.

The area you mistakenly gave to Turkey in the map had actually been Turkish around the time of WWI. They had simply given it to Bulgaria for a year or so before the Greeks grabbed it. The Nazis did plan to give it to the Turks, so unless they keep it as a military march, then it could be chucked their way in exchange for some favors or another. Perhaps with the Turks then also moving into Adjara and Nakhchivan, though I could simply be throwing out ideas I would like in a map, rather than what would be viable on a map of this size.

Perhaps the Levant is used for placing many displaced people, with the kings of each state vying for influence and more scraps of land. The Syrians consolidated the French Mandates and extended a bit south, so have loads of Druze, Alawaties, and Christians. They might want Transjordan to increase their Sunni population and potentially lay claim to Jerusalem. The Iraqis might wish for it for one of their up royal house so they can instead be the dominant power, splitting off the Arabian peninsula and the Red Sea and Persian Gulf from the Syrians. They all might think the Turks are too pro-French or pro-German from the bribe of Hatay and whatever the Germans might give them.

The Aleutians are colored differently on each side of the map. You may also want to add a yellow pixel to the Kuriles, if they are meant to be Japanese. Perhaps on the two-pixel thick thick island.

You may want to redo the map, though mostly the exact same way. There are simply quite a few areas where you were a pixel or two off while copy-pasting

At this point in time, the internal boundaries of the Reich can probably do away with Luxembourg, as well as move the Belgian border between Luxembourg and Dutch Limberg a pixel of to the west. The small Montenegrin area might also be subsumed into the Croatian or Serbian Reichkommisiarts. Given how the Germans decided to keep those areas as something other Han puppet states, they might also want to retain Banat, as it gives greater control over portions of the Danube. On that same note, you could try putting down a small occupation/treaty port zone at the mouth of the Danube.

No need for most of the maritime border around the Nicobarese islands. I would also suggest the Chinese either get a green border around Tibet to show they claim it, or to drop the claims to areas in India and Bhutan around Tibet, as the Chinese claimed them as part of a package. May also want to combine the eastern stub of what would otherwise be part of Tibet with another Chinese province.

Probably should straighten the border between Egypt and Sudan, at least at the large southern bulge.

Montenegro had been added to The Kingdom of Albanian before this point IOTL, though I can see the Italians wanting to annex it to make up for losing their land in Africa. Unsure if Greece should be filled with that dark brown, though.

Did the Channel Islands regain their prewar autonomy, or did the flight of the population of some of the islands before the German invasion, plus the destruction of what had become fortresses by the time the Anglo-Americans invaded (One-tenth of the resources for the Atlantic Wall apparently went to the Channel Islands, due to German thoughts that the British would want to regain their land as soon as possible)? Probably precedent to have them become used mainly as ports and bases, given how some towns evicted wiring WWI were never allowed back despite promises beforehand. That and they iggy risk being seized by Germans if any of the Channel Islanders went not a boat.

Is Greece a republic or did they try setting up a branch of the House of Savoy as king? And does the way Crete is colored suggest that half is Greek and half Italian? You also seem to have given Greece Italian Rhodes

What is the story behind the Hadraumant? This is what I am referring to the area that is not Oman, Aden, or Yemen, since I am unsure who would be in charge of that desolate area, especially since it does not have any colors in it signifying another country's patronage.

And of course, what year did Romania decide to fully integrate Transnistria? Fairly minor of course, but the Romanians had not officially annexed Transnistria IOTL, for various reasons. Partially due to the Germans being able to do whatever they pleased there, which is part of why the Romanians turned down an offer for triple it's territory. Waste of time and effort if the Germans get all the money and resources, leaving the Romanians to clean up after them. But yah, no real problem there.

EDIT: French Cameroons was also expanded at the expanse of French colonies. Probably best to slice Cameroon up a little and unify it with French Congo/Central Africa. You can also get rid of most of the maritime borders near the Nicobarese and Andaman islands, since a lot of that purple is separating them from Burma, which is part of India in this map.

Maybe part of a non-chronological series.

You might want to unify North Tyrol, South Tyrol, and East Tyrol on your map. And I must say that I find it mildly odd how Pergamon is one of the only countries without any internal boundaries, given how it apparently has stabilized with a two nations, one state solution.

The Eagle Rises:

Following a falling out between Mussolini and Hitler, Germany never entered North Africa and supplied it's armies with the winter uniforms that were to be designated to occupation troops, allowing the better prepared Wehrmacht to capture Stalingrad in 1942. Upon hearing about the capture of his namesake city, Stalin ordered the trial an execution of General Zhukov and Timoshenko which crippled the Red Army. Stalin's subsequent death from a heart attack brought on by stress and a lifetime of alcoholism sealed the Soviet's fate. Eventually Beria took command of the USSR and is forced to seek terms, which humiliate and the former giant and greatly bolster the German War Machine. In an attempt to keep the USSR in the war, the Allies launched an invasion of Vichy North Africa but this failed to distract the Reich, who remained mesmerized by the bounty extracted from the Soviets.

Following the collapse of the USSR, the war in the West ground into a stalemate as the Atlantic Wall is greatly reinforced by German divisions transferred from the East. Matters are further complicated when several Soviet agents are caught among the science teams working on the Manhattan Project, which in turn delays the project by almost a year as the extent of Soviet infiltration is investigated. Japan surrendered six months later than OTL, after the US Navy starveed the Island Nation into submission. Korea is subsequently liberated and unified by American/Chinese forces when the United States moved in to occupy Japan. A further ten million Japanese civilians have perished thanks to the extra six months of blockade and constant aerial bombardment, a fact that shook both the United States and Britain to the core.

By 1946, the Battle for the Atlantic is all but over, as German U-Boats are sunk increasingly large numbers and German air-raids become less and less. It is this same year that the the Manhattan project achieves fruition, the first detonation of the A-Bomb taking place in April. However Germany has had a significant amount of time to bolster it's defenses and with the memories of Japan still fresh in the mind of Allied commanders and the general public, the will to invade the European continent is limited. The following year, in a surprising act of civility, Germany proposes a ceasefire and prisoner exchange with the Western Allies, who cautiously agree to the transfer of thousands of captured Allied personnel in exchange for German prisoners. Air-Raids against civilian targets cease and although the Allies continue to blockade German merchant shipping, fighting in the North Sea and the Atlantic lessens significantly.

It was under these conditions that the "Great Stalemate" begins. Despite Allied Atomic supremacy (the Germans having dismissed rumors of an Allied "Super-Weapon" as propaganda and an engineering impossibility), Atomic weapons were never deployed against the Reich and although an invasion of the Continent was planned, the war had largely become marginalized in the minds of the Allied public who were exhausted by almost eight years of fighting. Similar sentiments prevailed in the Reich, Hitler and his advisers being content (for the while at least) to set about "securing Germany's future"

The Nazi Empire:

With the Continent firmly under their thumb, the Reich began reorganizing Europe to it's own design. The Heer was slowly replaced by the SS, many of former Wehrmacht officers given a patch of land and resettled to the East, the notable exception being Erwin Rommel who supervised in turning Northern France into a virtual fortress, with miles of defenses stretching inland from the coast. Although built by thousands of "volunteer workers" sent from the East, the bunkers and gun-turrets were constructed soundly, Rommel (one of the few men left in a high position not fanatically devoted to the deaths of millions) making a point of seeing that those under him were treated with dignity and looked after relatively well. The Einsatzgruppen meanwhile implemented "Generalplan Ost" which called for the enslavement, expulsion or outright extermination of millions. The nations of Poland, Latvia, Luthiania and Estonia cease to exist as their territory is reorganized into various "General Government Areas" for German resettlement.

The populations of the former USSR who have been unable to flee East are also subject to enslavement or extermination, a task which the German Death Squads enact with marked enthusiasm. The nations of Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary found themselves at the mercy of the Reich, their Jewish and Gypsy populations either killed or forced into hiding. The Balkan states and Greece meanwhile found themselves under Italy's rule, an assignment which was a virtual blessing compared to the other nations of Europe.

By 1951, Eichmann proudly announced to Hitler and his cabinet that the "Jewish problem" had been solved, as the 95% of the Jewish population in Europe had been exterminated or forced to flee over-seas. Almost nine million Jews had met a grim fate in the numerous death camps across Europe, the death toll exceeding ten million. Combined with the deaths of millions of other "undesirables", over sixty million people met their deaths at the hands of the Nazi regime. However, all was not well in the former USSR, as Russian partisans and war bands roamed the largely lawless "Moskow General Government Area", ambushing both soldiers and German "Pioneers" alike, massacring entire towns and settlements. Reprisals were harsh, but over-extended and thinly spread out, the German military struggled to stop the constant harassment by partisan forces. The Ural borders were by far the worst, hundreds of miles of porous borders providing an easy place for attackers to melt back into. Every year trains crammed with young men were shipped East to fight the "Slavic Dogs" and every year those same trains came back equally stuffed with coffins.

The Shadow of Giants:

While the Reich was realizing it's sickening racial policies across Eastern Europe, the Western Allies were not sitting idle. In Britain, while the public were no longer willing to stomach an invasion of Europe, they were not without their fears of the German giant sitting just eleven miles across the sea. British radar and aerial patrols constantly scanned for German incursion and many homes in Britain had a bomb shelter of some description dug into their backyards or basements. The metro systems in major cities were hardened and reinforced to act as an emergency shelter should the Reich attempt another "Blitz". The Commonwealth had meanwhile begun reorganizing itself into a more coherent political and economic bloc, with co-operation between the Dominions increasing in the years following the ceasefire. India received it's independence in 1949, but after being the subject of significant investment by Britain and the USA the former colony remain stable and very close to the Allies.

The United States also continued to co-operate closely with Britain to contain the Reich. Expansion of the United States Air-Force and Navy dwarfed that of the Reich, and the Allied nuclear arsenal was quietly expanded, the inclusion of India into the nuclear club in 1953 further increasing the Allied ability to mass produce atomic weapons, a fact that evaded the arrogant and technologically stunted Reich. In the years following the ceasefire, there were numerous attempts by the Reich to normalize relations with the United States, however like Britain, the USA refused to formally acknowledge any of the Reich's conquests East or lift the blockade against German shipping. Following the Allies lead, very few nations actually traded or dealt with the Reich or her "allies", both of which quickly realized that it lacked any potential friends outside of Europe. It would be this isolation that would set the Reich up for collapse in the coming years.

The state of the world as of 1960.

Very Cool.

Map edited with revisions. I've taken many on board, especially regarding Spain, Indonesia and Greenland. Note the addition of the Atlantic Wall to the Reich :)

I would LOVE to see your map of this state whenever you have the chance! Even if it's just a basic, TACOS-format world map thanks to Thekingsguard and his apparent meme :)p), although a North America-specific one would do just fine .
