Loving your family trees!

Fair. idea: Joao manuel survives to succeed his father joao III fora good number of years
Thought I'd done that one already. I'll do it again.

João IV Manuel, King of Portugal (1537-1574) m. Joanna of Austria (1535-1573)

1) Sebastian I, King of Portugal (1554-1578) died in battle [1]
2) Catarina of Portugal (1556-1634) m. Ferdinand II, HRE (1551-1612) [2]
3) Isabella of Portugal (1560-1585) m. Charles Emmanuel I, Duke of Savoy (1562-1630) [3]
4) Joanna of Portugal (1563-1610) m. Henry III, King of France (1551-1589) [4]
5) John V, King of Portugal (1566-1625) m. Isabella Clara Eugenia (1566-1633)

[1] I doubt his father being alive would've stopped him, let's be real
[2] Longer-lived first son of Maximilian II
[3] He remarried to Catalina of Austria as OTL
[4] He actually divorced Louise of Lorraine in 1584

Suggestion: Juan, Prince of Asturias is born a girl

Joanna I of Castile and Aragon (b. 1478 d. 1520) [1] m. Manuel I of Portugal (b. 1469 d. 1521)
  1. Stillborn Daughter (b. 1500 d. 1500)
  2. Manuel, Prince of Portugal and Asturias (b. 1501 d. 1510)
  3. Ferdinand VI & II of Spain and Portugal (b. 1503 d. 1557) m. Isabella of Austria (b. 1501 d. 1520) and Katherine Tudor (b. 1503 d. 1541) [2]
  4. Joanna of Portugal (b. 1504 d. 1561) m. Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor (b. 1500 d. 1558)
  5. John, Duke of Beja (b. 1505 d. 1580) m. Isabella of Navarre (b. 1512 d. 1560)
  6. Stillborn Son (b. 1506 d. 1506)
  7. Stillborn Son (b. 1507 d. 1507)
  8. Miguel of Portugal (b. 1508 d. 1512)
  9. Beatrice of Portugal (b. 1509 d. 1522)
[1] OTL Joanna of Castile is probably named Maria, OTL Maria is probably named Catalina and OTL Catalina is named Beatriz. Also Isabel of Aragon still dies.
[2] Katherine Tudor survives infancy and she is selected as a bride after Isabella of Austria dies giving birth to her only child, Maria of Portugal.

Suggestion: Juan, Prince of Asturias is born a girl, the Catholic monarchs only have girls

Why would Ferdinand marry again if his grandson is posed to unite ALL of the kingdoms?

I believe Isabella I probably until the 1510s without Juan's death haunting her

Juan, Prince of Asturias is born a girl
My crack at this (testing something for a new thread, sorry if it doesn't fill your prompt exactly, @The Gybson Boy):

Joanna of Castile (b. 1478) m. 1496 Philipp IV, Duke of Burgundy [1] (b. 1478) with issue:
  1. Margaret [2] (b. 1498)
  2. Maximilian [3] (b. 1500)
  3. Isabella (b. 1501)
  4. Ferdinand (b. 1503)
  5. Emma [4] (b. 1505)
  6. Philip (b. 1506)
  7. Catherine (b. 1507)
NOTES:
[1] Son of Maximilian I and Emma of Burgundy, and has a different personality
[2] OTL Eleanor of Austria (here named for her ALT grandmother, Marguerite of Anjou)
[3] OTL Charles V (here named for his grandfather)
[4] OTL Mary of Hungary (named for her paternal grandmother)

Prompt: Francis Phoebus of Navarre survives and doesn't die in a stupid way and has slightly better relationships with the Catholic Monarchs.

Francis I of Navarre (b. 1467 d. 1506) m. Jeanne of France (b. 1464 d. 1505) [1]
  1. Magdalena of Navarre, Princess of Viana (b. 1484 d. 1486)
  2. Jeanne of Navarre (b. 1485 d. 1530) m. Ferdinand II of Aragon (b. 1452 d. 1516) [2]
  3. Francis II of Navarre (b. 1487 d. 1538) m. Renée of Bourbon (b. 1494 d. 1539) [3]
  4. Stillborn Son (b. 1488 d. 1488)
  5. Catherine of Navarre (b. 1489 d. 1519) m. Charles II, Duke of Savoy (b. 1489 d. 1507)
  6. Charles of Navarre (b. 1491 d. 1498)
[1] More Healthy.
[2] Replaces Germaine de Foix.
[3] I was going to go with Catalina of Aragon, but the Catholic Monarchs would NEVER chose Navarra over England in ANY circumstances so I went with Renee.
