Irish National Archives not destroyed in the Civil War

I'm currently taking an Irish history coarse and my professor mentioned that one of the biggest problems in the study of Irish history is that most of the national archives were destroyed by the fighting at the Four Courts in the Irish Civil War.
This made me think what would the effects be of those archives surviving? Say their isn't fighting at the Four Courts or the documents are moved before the war to an area not fought over.

It sounds like a great setup for some secret history where those documents contains something important..
