If communism fails in Russia how succesful is it in other nations?

Would communism have largely withered as a result of a White victory? Would there still be a communist uprising in China and an attempted one in Spain? What would the butterflies be for it in such a scenario?

you are mixing up 2 things communism and socialism.
due to the red victory it pushed a lot of socialism to communist habits.
with no red victory, the other socialist strains might stay much more mainstream & democratic.
there would still be socialist uprisings, but their political configuration & habits might differ from otl

I didn't say anything about them being the same. I recognize communism likely radicalized a lot of people at the time.

Without the Soviet Union around to be both an example that a Communist revolution can succeed, acting as a sugar daddy to Communist parties worldwide (very, very important), and imposing Communist governments as a result of the advances of the Red Army in Europe, I doubt any government would go Communist. The Bolsheviks seized power in very unique circumstances. It is not impossible, but it is unlikely another perfect storm of conditions would happen elsewhere.

Moscow's funding for the Chinese Communist Party kept it alive in the years before WWII. Without Moscow's funding perhaps even the KMT doesn't expand from its base in Guangzhou as it will lack an army for the Northern Expedition. Some one else may end up reuniting China.

As for Spain, no Soviet Union means no Communist support for the Spanish Republic, so the Spanish Communists - at best - are a minor faction supporting the Republic. Then again, without the Soviet Union, perhaps the Spanish Right never fears the Republic enough to revolt, or that Britain and France agree to support the Republic.
