this is East Asia in my alt cold war scenario
some context:
the south won the korean war
the Chinese civil war ended in stalemate. Chiang survived through a combination of luck, major american investment and sheer grit. both sides came very close during the civil war to destroying the other.
Japan was divided like Germany post war, these then got independence, a horrific war ensued, North Japan was pushed back roughly to the 1945 division line after a hellish four year campaign by the south. the north is communist, though it maintains the emperor as a figure head, it is heavily nationalist. the south is also heavily nationalist and also maintains the emperor. he gets sent back and forth every six months.
how would this united korea, the divided Japan's and the divided China's develop?
