Last night I stayed up and watched Good Bye Lenin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Bye_Lenin!
It got me thinking, in effect what the son set up for his mother was an alternate history in that as far as she was aware, up until the end of the film was that it was in fact NATO which lost the Cold War. I was thinking about an actual POD that would be required for the quasi-history that the son set up to be the real one.
Obviously the first major changes in the East would be the (lack of) fall of the Berlin Wall, but history would have to have diverged significantly in the west for the history created in the film to be in any way probable. What do you guys think?
