Explain the AH Quote

"And why should I support your claim to the throne? I'd be risking the lives of my men, as well as my wealth, for you a princeling who couldn't even muster up support in the land he was born in. Why instead of toasting their cups to your name, and praying for your return, men clink their cups laughing at you, as well as the pathetic way your House fell. Your time is now over Your Highness. And now as your loving uncle I urge you for once in your life to make the wise and more prudent choice. Instead of throwing your life away, enjoy your cushy life here in exile as your family peacefully fades away into the dust bin of history."
A line from the British film A Prince's Journey, released in 2005, about a prince who has been deposed by popular revolution and sets off ona. journey to reclaim his throne. The film itself was a bomb, grossing $25 million against a $150 million budget, and led to the collapse of directing studio Polar Studios the following year.

"Unlike her sisters, Titanic would ultimately be spared the shipbreakers, instead being convered into a floating museum all about White Star Line - and eventually ocean liners in general following the end of the ocean liner age in the 1960s."

"Unlike her sisters, Titanic would ultimately be spared the shipbreakers, instead being convered into a floating museum all about White Star Line - and eventually ocean liners in general following the end of the ocean liner age in the 1960s."

A line near the end of a documentary about the White Star Line ships, especially over on the most famous one, Titanic. The ship was known as being 'unsinkable' though this would be tested when it nearly collided with an iceberg. While the ship returned to port seeming well, it would later be discovered the ship took on some damage that needed to be repaired. Additionally, it was hypothesized that had they dodged the iceberg just a couple minutes later, the damage would've led to the ship taking water and sinking. The word got out and the public scandal, especially among the upper class, would lead to the development of increased safety measures and the like regarding the ship. The Titanic would end up being drafted into World War I alongside her sisters with the Olympic and the Britannic. While they would be used as troop carriers, some also served as floating hospitals over for the war.

The Titanic in particular would go and maintain its fame since its maiden voyage as it was the first of her sisters to go and receive its 'updates' through the new standards and reinforcements. This would allow it to handle mines and the like better than her sisters along with maintaining a mystique to her. Often, the children or those associated with the ship during its voyage now were in it as soldiers and offiicers. One diary commented on how it seemed appropriate; that the splendor and opulence the ship once had was now gone, replaced with the brutal and plain truth of what was, much like how the Great War exposed the issues of Europe. The ships began being phased out over time though the Titanic's fame meant it would attract an "anniversary cruise" in 1937, before World War II would begin. It was this cruise that ultimately saved the ship's reputation as while ehr sisters would be sent to the shipbreakers, the mystique surrounding the Titanic would lead to public demand to keep her around, wth her becoming a museum to such opulence and of the ocean liner era.

Interestingly enough, this would have some subtle but prominent economic effects. The visits to the Titanic along with feedback led to an increase in such vacations, to where it would be remarked in the mid-1970s that trends would see a shift in purchasing patterns: people paying for experiences rather than products. This would see the transition to a service-focused economy starting in the 1980s and would have some political impact as the Dems doubled down on blue-collar workers, and leading to Bill Bradley winning the 1992 presidency.

“The Soviet Union’s control economy would be saved and updated for the 21st century, thanks to the power of computers, and moreover a simple operating system known as Linux.”

Excerpt from Red Tech: Communism and the Rise of the Internet, a journal by Tim Berners Lee in which he explores how information technology was not only able to resuscitate the Communist bloc from its decay in the 1980s, but led to a new wave of "useful idiots" thanks to Soviets harnessing the power of information technology.

"Brazil is a topsy-turvy nation. It is a monarchy, yet it is more democratic than the so-called Republics in Latin America. It has Catholicism as a state religion, but it has more religious tolerance than the slaveocrats of Richmond. It is called an Empire, and yet the "enlightened" Republicans of D.C. are more engaged in overseas expansionism. You will do so many double takes, your head will be screwed on backwards.

A proffessor of the university of Paris remarking the current state of affairs of the empire of Brazil circa 1888. Even to the present day the Empire of Brazil remains the most stable and democratic nation in the americas. Brazil has continued to become a further contradiction with its commitment to anti communism yet having the most socialist government in recent history.

A excerpt from the book A Brief History of Modern Austria, written by famed author Adolf Bunschnitz. Although the exhaustion and damage of the Great War would catalyse the collapse of the Russian and German Empires, and spark revolution in France, Austria-Hungary managed to hold on, in no small part thanks to Ferdinand II’s exceptional leadership skills. In the following years the Empire would be reformed into the Federal Republic of the Danube (FRD), with stringent protections for minority rights that curbed the worst of nationalism.

“When the Socialist Republic of Serbia and the Romanian Democratic Republic marched their troops over the Austro-Hungarian frontier, they had a new goal in mind. No longer was this just a simple war to liberate their fellow Serbs and Romanians from Habsburg rule - no, this was a war to bring down the Habsburgs, the tyrants that had strangled the Danube for 220 years, and liberate everyone - Germanic, Hungarian and Slavic alike, from their clutches.”

Excerpt from Peninsulas, a work of alternate history that turns the Balkan and Indochinese peninsulas into analogues of one another. Here, the "Balkan-Austrian War" begins. It clearly parallels the Southeast Asian front in the Great World War; Serbia is Cambodia, Romania is Vietnam, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire is the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, which had indeed dominated the Bay of Bengal for two centuries. The companion chapter to this, of course, tells of the Indochinese Front in the Great World War, and how the Plurinational Republic of Indochina, with help from allies like Laos and North Malaya, led the region's fight against such enemies as South Malaya and the Sundan and Tidore Empires.

I'm almost out of time -- go to Denmark!

The last line of the 7th Professor played by Ian Holm in the famous British TV show "Professor Who." The show followed a space and time traveler who has the ability to regenerate upon extreme injury or old age. Ian Holm's character was shot by a Nazi when trying to save his companion Jamie from getting sent to a POW camp. This is right before he regenerates into british actor, Tom Baker, who had been offered the role back in 1984 after Patrick Troughton left the role after 18 seasons.

"What do you mean Walt Disney has planned a sequel to Snow White? Wait Roy are you telling me that he wants to have Snow White and the Dwarfs meet the Wolf Man, Frankenstein and Dracula? Come on let go back to the Snow White and Red Rose adaptation, we don't need Disney making any scary movies. The Evil Queen is scary enough!"

As the production of Peter Pan ramped up, Walt Disney had several ideas for another big animated movie floating around in his head, Cinderella and Alice had done quite well, Peter would probably succeed too, so why not follow it with something? The question was what the something would be, for a while discussions bounced around the idea of a Snow White sequel, maybe a straight fairy tale or perhaps something somewhat darker, or the other way, more campy and comic, as the proverbial mud was thrown at the wall ideas that would pair Snow White with almost every classic Hollywood character where quickly drafted and discarded.

In the end the way to go would be forward instead of revisiting the past, The Three Musketeers would be a great success, cute with his anthropomorphic dog characters but surprising serious and poignant and places, it would ensure that animation would stay in the big screen for years to come.

"Destiny dressed you this morning my friend, and now fear is trying to pull off your pants. If you give up, if you give in, then your gonna end up naked with fear just standin' there laughing at your dangling unmentionables."

Come on let go back to the Snow White and Red Rose adaptation, we don't need Disney making any scary movies. The Evil Queen is scary enough!"
A conversation between Roy Disney and one of the prominent writers over for an upcoming sequel to Snow White, known as Snow White and Rose Red. a film that came out over in 1946. While initially wanting to do some live action work to try and make up some money, Walt would consider instead making a sequel to Snow White in the hopes of using that to draw people in. However, many have noted that Walt developed a mild habit of tricking or irritating some of the staff on hand as a way to cope with stess (with later revelations that quitting smoking at the time was what caused it). This led to a particular incident when Walter and his nephew Roy proceeded to pull a trick on changing direction over on the adaptation of Snow White and Rose Red. According to onlookers, Roy managed to keep a poker face to the flustered writer and was only ended when Walt had fell laughing out of his hiding spot, causing Roy and said writer to also start laughing.

While the whole thing would be brushed off as a joke, it did show the ongoing concerns of stress and Walt would take a bit of time to recover. It also helped that Snow White and Rose Red would become quite a large success. Beyond just it serving as a sequel, it fleshed out Snow more and revealing the ties between her and her sister Rose Red, who was portrayed as a sort of tomboy (or 'spirited young lady' to be accurate of the times) contrasting her sister. There would also be the first instance of a 'metajoke' when Rose wonders why everyone keeps thinking she would wear a red hood. This also confirmed the idea of doing potential sequels down the line if possible and done right. However, with all the assorted films Walt wanted to do, it would be a while before another one would be done. This would be when in 1981, Walt would help oversee the release of Alice and the Looking Glass, a sequel to Alice in Wonderland. An adaptation of the book of the same name, it would also follow in the footsteps of expandng on the character's personality and the like.

This revived the idea of sequels as a potential idea moving forward. Howeve, Walt would not get to live to see it as he would pass away in 1986, just after completing The Snow Queen, released in 1985. This is what would lead to the The Rescuers Down Under, which would be suprisngly successful (and show the importance of scheduling releases) and its sequel over in 1995, The Rescuers and the Rising Sun, a loose adaptation of "Miss Bianca in the Orient", which sees Bernard and Bianca having to rescue a child over in Japan from a shady conspiracy. The film was also the first to be developed with Japanese aid, portraying the country in a "lovely and respectful light" while also serving as a thoughtful critique on greed (which many said hit home given the Japanese recesson". The success of The Rescuers trilogy along with the release of the Lord of the Ring trilogy would lead to Disney going over and doing similar in the 2000s in their "action" era as some called it. Branching beyond the fairy tales and being experimental with the "Atlantis" trilogy, their homage to pulp stories and ancient civilization and the "Treasure Planet" trilogy, an homage to "pirate and sea" stories though set in the background of space for a fresh reimagining.

"Indian unification succeeded, but who expected it would be by Tibet of all nations?!"
A famous line by historian Richard Nixon in the documentary, They Came, We Fought, They Conquored. In 1899 all the Native American tribes were summouned to meet in the new State of Lincoln at the Capital in Bend by the Chief of the Tibet nation. The Tibet were known to form no alliances with any of other tribe, but with the advancement of Mexico and America they realized it was time to form together as one Nation who wanted their own nation where the White man wouldn't interfer. And they got it in 1901 thanks to President Samuel Langhorne Clemens.

“Bob Dylan’s making kids movies, man I miss the Sixties.”

Excerpt from an online movie blog, Kids Review, from October 5, 2001, reviewing the Disney Channel Original movie New Strings. Bob Dylan has a central role as a reclusive guitarist who becomes a mentor to an up-and-coming country singer, played by Zena Grey, the first of six TV movies Dylan would do in collaboration with the Disney Channel.

Bob Dylan's work with Disney is controversial. For diehard fans, Dylan was seen as someone who sold out to an establishment he railed against, with some pejoratively calling him Dyl-ney. Some had defended his movies not only decent but also helped inspire a new generation of folk artists and that he donated his salary for these movies to support music programs.

Quote spoken by President Vallorum regarding The Republic of Texas' protest over the taxation of trade routes, and the ensuing blockade of Jamaica, the poor handling of which led to a vote of No Confidence in President Vallorum and his removal.

Line from the cartoon "King of the Hill", specifically the two-part episode "Returning Japanese". Although the series' A Plot was about Cotton Hill making amends with his past as an american soldier during the occupation of Japan, finding out he had a son with a local woman, the B Plot dealt with Bobby Hill making friends with a young Japanese boy called Hiro around his age, who turns out to be none other than the son of Chairman Shigeru Miyamoto, one of the Chairmen of the Nintendo Entertainment Company, and would eventually lead to Miyamoto, recognizing Bobby Hill's unforeseen talent for programming by solving a coding problem none of his programmers could fix, or in Bobby's confused words "I just typed away and it worked. It was clear when I saw it", ending in him getting to know his son's new friend, and eventually offering the young Texan boy a job at his company once he is old enough, sending him home with a game console not yet released in the USA, with Hiro and Bobby remaining friends through letters as shown in an ending scene, after the Hills had returned home. Hank Hill, Bobby's father, was rather proud of his son, leading to him saying that line as the Miyamotos, Cotton's son and his mother, and the Hills make their farewells at the airport.

"Say about the Ethiopians what you want, but you cannot deny they make some amazing cheeses. I haven't tasted one this good since I left France!"
That...sounds like an Episode I'd actually like to watch

A line from the 1998 film "Back to the Future", where protagonist Martin McFly (played by Leo DiCaprio) tries to convince Doc Brown (played by Dick Van Dyke), that he is from the future, alluding to the 1996 election over of Donald Trump over as President of the United States. In 1994, the nation entered chaos when President Bill Clinton would be assassinated by Ronald Gene Barbour, leaving Al Gore in charge. The subsequent despondency and strife (especially following some controversial statements by Newt Gingrich, who would be ousted from office as a result) would leave a vaccum for the Reform Party to rise. While the party was created by Ross Perot, the 1996 would be none other than Donald Trump, the prominent mogul and occasional actor. Having considered Perot a mentor, he threw his hat in the ring and ran on a mix of populism and getting support from both sides. Traditionally GOP-affiliated donors buoyed him as they had little faith in Bob Dole winning. While Gore did his best, he lacked the charisma of his successor and his running mate in Lieberman soured him with progessives.

Trump would win the Presidency in 1996 with Oprah Winfrey as running mate. Trump become have a somewhat controversial presidency due to his somewhat belligerent attitude toward many politicians along with a mixed track record. He would terminate NAFTA as one of his first acts along with tax cuts for the wealthy, though he would go to push for auditing the military along with push for healthcare reform. On foreign affairs, he worked to grow relations with Russia and China, though this came with accusations of ties over for his business. Ultimately though, he would losing in the 2000 election against Democrat Paul Wellstone (who was convinced to run), which many attributed over to the Republicans recovering under George W. Bush as the Republican candidate. Despite this, this left an impact on politics as the Reform Party became a viable third party, especially as the Republica Party stuggled against them. The 2000s would be a decade of disaste and hope as President Wellstone would deal with 9/11 along with the capture of Osama Bin Laden later in the year and the restoration of the old Afghan monarchy. Wellstone would oversee the implementation of America's healthcare program (modeled after Australia's system) along with raising wages and dealing with the 2008 Great Recession. Trump would later end up arrested over various cases of financial fraud while the Reform Party would become the home of former Democrats and other independents. The Reform Party briefly returned to power under President Winfrey in 2016-2024. Humorously enough, ex-President Trump applauded her success over in prison.

"The conversion of the Imazighen (known as Berbers at the time) into Catholicism by the Spanish succeeded thanks to a combination of factors, notably exploiting the Amazighs being second-class citizens to the Muslim Afro-Arabs, with the Spanish painting them as invasive outsiders."
So do they keep in Rich Biff being a Trump Parody in the sequel or...?

Donald Trump Jr. in the film "The Apprentice" discussing how he got "well you know" over $500,000,000 in oil. This is right before Bruce Willis's character breaks out of the vent and utters his famous line, "Feeling lucky punk." The film was a box office hit. However Donald Trump didn't like his son playing himself as a villain he said he already stained the family name back in December of 2001 when he got drunk at the World Trade Centers and gave a speech about how father hadn't given him a small loan of million dollars.

News Report of the Election of 2076 in the United States of America. Greg Heffley, President between 2072 and 2076, had his reputation in the gutter due to the Monsoon Crisis of September 2076, where a private military contractor used by the United States went completely out of control and couped the government of Mexico. Before the USA could deal with the mercenaries, the Mexican army had rallied and defeated them. President Heffley was lampooned and criticized everywhere for failing to deal with this "merry band of miscreants". Rowley Jefferson ran against him in the Election of 2076 and won, but Heffley alleged widespread voter fraud and tried to use the Supreme Court to overturn the election. In the end, Rowley Jefferson won the court case of "Jefferson v. United States of America" and successfully gained the Presidency.

Said in the 14th Diary of A Wimpy Kid book, Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Class Election, this was the third book in the series after the crossover/reboot with Dork Diaries released in 2010, in this book, Greg, with the help of his girlfriend Nickie, runs for class president, only to be opposed by his sort-of friend Rowley Jefferson. This book was also notable as it marked the first mention of Genovia, hinting at the eventual third franchise to be added into the Wimpy-Verse, that being The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot...

Sampleswift is this canon
"Why do I still live? This country has all but fallen apart--its founding ideals and dreams washed away in the current of time. Look what they have made of the everything that I gave to them."
From a Russian nationalist insurgent within the Democratic Kingdom of the Far East. He was once an important figure in the Russian Empire; one could even call him a leader. Of course, the Russian Empire had trusted Ten to be Tsar; all that backfired when Ten carried out a palace coup and formed the DKFE. Now people are getting rights in the Far East! And the old rulers resent Ten and their allies for it.

Is there an excuse to be enemies when we only disagree because we have before? Have things not changed in the last decades?
