Effect of SS Great Eastern on Union blockade

Discussion of having the SS Great Eastern run cotton from Savannah to the UK we're held but came to naught. For those not familiar with the SS Great Eastern this ship is perhaps 50 years ahead of its time in some regards and capable of cargo loads over 13,000 net registered tons. Assuming Southern interests come to control the ship, does it have any real impact on the Civil War blockade and if so what is the net effect?

To mine a quote about Nazi Wunderwaffen, the effect of the Great Eastern on the American Civil War would have been a positive one - because the money, men, and materials wasted by the Confederacy on failing to sneak the largest paddlewheel steamship ever built past the U.S. blockade would have hastened the end of the war.
