Consequences of a Ottoman Granada

What are the consequences if Granada falls under Ottoman Control during the 15th century.

Im not sure quite how or why they leapfrog across the entire mediterranean to go after granada.

Maybe Muhammad XII makes himself a vassal or something, but even so that seems rather like the sublime porte is overreaching itself.

Well. The Ottomans are going to need Malta at least to project their influence into the Western Med. I think you'll probably need an earlier capture of Constantinople in order to give enough time for the Ottomans to get there before the Spanish Emirates fall.

The Ottomans didn't have a good navy in the 1480s, and it would have been just too far. They did not control Malta, and hadn't even conquered Rhodes before Granada fell. Focusing on taking Granada would be a complete shift of the Ottoman ambition to create a solid empire, and would have to still contend with Trebizond, Venice, Genoa, the Arabs, and the Hungarians before they could think of expanding into Spain. Bayezid II would have probably been assassinated in his first year for such radical thinking, and as the campaign would almost assuredly fail, it might even be enough to deorbit the Ottoman ascent, allowing the Hungarians and the Knights of St. John to pick apart their conquered territories (most of them Greek or Eastern Christian.)

OTL, the fall of Constantinople was a major trigger for the Reconquista, which means that if the Ottomans did try to exert influence in southern Spain, the Spanish would probably be even more committed to kicking them out. Or at least that's my two cents.

The city of Grenada is about 70km from the sea, so any Ottoman relationship is going to have to be able to project forces inland from the sea at will.

Dear author,
I suggest you to correct the thread as "consequences of an independent Granada".
An independent sultanate surviving in southern spain is possible (even if it is a bit unlikely).
Maybe it could even be nominally subject to Istanbul, but not de facto

If Turks tried to take Granada, they would had it for some years,to get then PWNT by the Castillians. Also,a war between an Ottoman Granada and Castille would be also economically and logistically a fail.Andalusia is far from Turkey,it's on the other side of the Mediterranean, and the supplies would arrive in too much time.To end,the Ottoman ships were inferior to the European ones, this means that Europeans could have sunk the supply ships with their escorts with no problems. It is a fascinating idea, but it history wouldn't be changed that much.

Anything remotely resembling to the emirate of Granada becoming a vassal of the Ottoman empire is going to convince the Christian kingdoms to conquer it much quickly than before

As other posters have said, the changes that precede an Ottoman Granada are going to have much bigger effects (like a powerful Ottoman navy etc), so you need to say how the Ottomans get Granada (not that I'm saying its impossible, just the variant paths to get there are important).

How about extended and intensified divisions amongst the Christian kingdoms, culminating in the small states having much more distinct and different cultures by the late 1300's (assuming that someone doesn't unite Iberia)?

Ottoman ships werent inferior to european ones. The ottomans just used ship fit for the med because they didnt have direct accses to the atlantic or any other ocean for that matter so they didnt need the bigger european ships used to colonize the new world. And any power the ottomans faced in the med would also be using med orianted ships. It was latter on when the race for the new world got full under way or colonialism got full blown that the ottomans became increasingly inferior to european navies.
