Collaborative Challenge: Most Confusing Map

Ok, I am going to report it.

Before this gets derailed further and people start to get upset, look back to page one. Baconheimer and another user said to stop claiming. If you have an update, post the map and an explanation of what's going on. If someone took an area you wanted, tough, you should have been quicker. If you want to join, please do, and remember this is supposed to be confusing and for fun. So let's remember that please. Thanks. :)

Well I already cancelled my claim, but thanks anyway.

The Song Dynasty was the pioneer of the Industrial Era when she invented the first steam engine in 1180, and with it the first steam boat in the world. The Smoking Dragon Armada had swiftly blockaded the coasts of eastern sea and Yangtze, allowed the Song armies to flood in. The North and South was thus finally united in 1221.

During the Age of Oceanic Seas, the continent of America were discovered by the early industrialists, and trade was conducted with the Europeans and the natives at there, and the west coasts were sparsely colonized by the Chinese peasants, governed at most of the time by the scholars who had displeased the reigning emperor, which helped breed the tradition of stay away from everything related to the Middle Kingdom, and along with increasing tax burden landed upon the locals, this grew to hate. The Neo-Mohist supported, and the local governor led revolution had the Thalassocratic Republic of the Eastern Ocean born. With a mixture of reexplained version of Neo-Confucianism and the rise of Neo-Mohism came to prominance in the political scene the country is liberal, cosmopolitan, and fervently anti-Song, yet as the history marches on, this emotion are heavily lessened.

Both of the Chinese-majority countries are having good standard of life, mighty navies, and are fiercely battling on the ground of pop culture.

Updated the map to add the following . . .

-Re-added the foederati Kingdom of Hawaii (which was accidentally left out)
-Changed all the U.S. possessions to Novegascon ones (per Codae's request)

Although still no one Mod has put this thread to the right place, it doesn't bother me to post new stuff.

The Khanate of Iron Eagle is of Jurchen, Mongol and Khitan origins, and is a form of aristocratic confederation with a touch of meritocracy; the Khanate tolerates all kinds of culture and races, while gender role is ingrained in everyone's daily life, and radical thoughts are discouraged. The Great Asian War at the last century had the population scattered by it, which in turn had her borders on China and Malgalia closed and poured with barbed wires, turrets and Power Armoured Keshiks, and the propaganda machine is fully rolling for anti-Chinese and anti-Malgalians rhetoric. But be noticed that she is not totally isolated herself from the world, and are actually leading her own bloc.

Also tried to clean the Australia, feel free to modify it.

Decided to go again. This time, the Caliphate of Misr, including the autonomous protected state of Dar For. Post-Turkish Islamic empire, with civilisation centred around the Nile and the large but sparsely populated province of Cyrenaica. The militant Caliphate turned south instead of east or west, conquering its way along the Nile and forcibly converting Christians and indegenous pagans as it went.

Shall we also make a rule for the sake of consistency to make sure posters remove the rivers within their nation's borders? :)

I'm ok with that rule. Should we edit the existing nations to remove the rivers that we missed the first time around?

Also, not sure about the Siberia question, but we'll figure it out.

*Edit*: Going to add at least part of Scandinavia when I get out of work. Should be up sometime this evening my time.

Also, is it ok to add two countries if they're part of the same region or is that just being greedy?

Throw some overlapping/competing claims or a DMZ between the two. That should make it sufficiently confusing.

The Kingdom of Greece (in Exile in Eritrea) - Ottoman province populated with Greeks, that later became a Greek colony following the independence of the Greek homeland, and later an independent state during decolonisation. When Greece proper fell to a republican rebellion during some turbulent economic troubles, the royal family fled to the colony and re-established their old kingdom. Includes a military-run border with the Caliphate of Misr, native Tigray kingdoms with significant autonomy and protection against the [insert East African nation] menace to the south, as well as a considerable claim to Misr's Red Sea Coast resulting in less than cordial nations between the two. Sort of a David vs. Goliath situation going on. The Greeks and their African citizens are utterly terrifying when at war.

The Caucasus is a very divided region. The northern portions are the battle ground between the eternal enemies of Bulgaria and Khazaria. The Khazars have hired mercenaries from the steppe and settled them in the border territories, which have allowed them the survive attacks from Bulgaria, who have set up their own puppets on the border. The inept rule of a recent Khagan has lead to a revolt in the Tatar and Kazakh Regions, who are supported by the Revanchist Siberian Khanate to the north.

The Southern Areas are split between the allies of the Ottomans in Azerbaijan and Dagestan, while Georgia, Armenia and other Caucasian States have form an alliance against further Islamic attacks.
