An Empire in the Skies: A British Aerospace timeline

Start
December 1944, the Air Ministry........ "So we're all in agreement that this deal with the Americans should go through?", all bar one of the men at the table nod and murmur agreement, however Earnest Staveley* then stood up and asked, "Are we absolutely sure that the Americans will hold up on their end of the deal? After all look at most of the 'deals' we've had with the Americans and we've come off worse for them. Can we be 100% sure that we'll actually get the information that we want and it won't be another Tisard Mission?"

After this a vigorous debate erupted again, as those board members who weren't entirely trusting of the Americans seized upon this as a way to help block the agreement, and at the final hurdle the High-Speed research data exchange failed.

The agreement fell through and never occurred and thus the Americans wouldn't gain the moving tail, that was so critical to the success of the Bell X-1 in breaking the Speed barrier in 1947........... and thus begins An Empire in the Skies, a Timeline looking at what we could have had if Britain had seized the day and become the Aerospace giants they could have.

This is my first timeline and I will take any help, advice or criticism's you have.
