With a POD after 1945, what changes are needed to have South Korea maintain a monarchy to the present day?

I think it is impossible by 1945, the Korean monarchy (and nobility) were seen as Japanese puppets by the Korean people.
And Korea hates everything about Japan, with good reason.

There's also the fact that Syngman Rhee was opposed to the monarchy returning as he wanted to maintain his own grip on power, going as far as to seize all their properties and such.

You would at least need to replace Rhee with someone else, but I do not know of any potential Korean leader who was keen to restore the monarchy. Even if there was one, they'd be one of the least likely people to be propped up by the Americans.

I thought of the comic book Goong (Princess Hours), but with more background and more political. Otherwise, any PoD(s) before 1945 could be viable.
