AHC: No "Colonel" Tom Parker

I've often thought that Tom Parker was one of the most improbable persons to ever get involved in the music scene. But what if he'd never become Elvis's manager? What if he'd been deported as an illegal alien (which he was), or hadn't made it to the US in the first place, or had simply not become a talent manager? How would modern rock music have been different, if at all?

Elvis still would have a manager who would at least be smarter in finances and also he would be able to tour overseas and make better quality films and show his acting abilities.
