AHC: Christopher Lee as M

What would it take to have the late Sir Christopher Lee be cast not as a villain in one Bond Film, but as the boss of James Bond in multiple films as M.

He certainly has the credentials, and probably knew more about espionage than anyone who worked on the films. He also had an imposing visage, gravitas, a memorable voice, and perhaps surprise the audience given his then CV, which most comprised of villainous roles.

That probably wouldn't be hard. He was 40 years old when Dr. No came out, which is probably on the young side, so maybe when On Her Majesty's Secret Service rolls around and Lazenby replaces Connery, they pick a new actor for M, too.

(What we want, IMO, is for Christopher Lee to become the actual head of MI6. :D)

You Never Know

In a brilliant disinformation campaign, Sir Christopher continued as an actor, even while heading the British spy/counterspy organization MI6.
His puckish sense of humor led him to accept a role as M of the 007 films.
"Nobody will believe it," he said, "And even if they suspect, who would dare say anything?"
He was succeeded in office, as well as role, by Dame Judith (aka Mrs. Macbeth).
