Come up with a short timeline where the Bulgaria and the Byzantine Empire merge politically with each other but the last surviving ruling family is the House of Osman controlling lands in the Balkans and Anatolia.

Bonus Points for having the empire be a sweet blend of Bulgarian and Byzantine culture, the Ottomans install more Roman institutions than IOTL and fully embrace the Roman identity.

Ivan Asen II takes Constantinople from the Latins, then follows by conquering the Byzantine remnants in Epirus and Nicaea. The ITTL Ertuğrul Gazi serves under the Bulgarian dynasty and becomes a client state of the Bulgaro-Romans. He and his followers convert to Orthodox Christianity and focus their martial energies on expanding at the expenses of the Turkish statelets in Anatolia while climbing up the social ladder of Byzantium. Eventually through a coup or marriage or both, the Ottomans end up becoming Roman Emperors.

Now THAT would be a timeline worth reading. Especially if they have ambitions of conquering Rome like OTL.
