For example...

Noel and Liam Gallagher get caught for burglary, get imprisoned and become career criminals. No Britpop or Cool Britannia.

Krist Novoselic never returns from Yugoslavia in 1981. No Nirvana and Grunge never becomes a phenomenon.

Or in terms of films...

John Hughes doesn't drop out of University and works as an advertising executive before becoming a Michigan State Senator. The absence of a whole genre of teen movies results in programmes like '13 Reasons Why', 'Sex Education', 'How to get away with murder', and 'One of Us is Lying' never being realised.

Britpop was more than just Oasis, it was Blur, Suede and Pulp too. Remove Oasis and someone else joins that group of bands.

How about in 1982-1983 the Iran-Iraq conflict turns into a major regional conflict, maybe through Iraq screwing up badly (or an internal rebellion against Saddam), giving Iran the chance of winning and taking over Iraq. The prospect of a Shai-majority run Iraq draws in the rest of the Sunni led Gulf States and eventually turns into a East-West proxy conflict. The Middle Eastern oil industry is badly hit, causing oil Oil prices to skyrocket worse than during the 70s embargo. This causes a global economic downturn and severe recession in Anglophone countries.
