AHC: 'A Butterfly Flaps Its Wings...'

(Yes, technically I've already posted a virtually identical thread in the Before 1900 forum. But it's just so much more of a challenge if the POD is After 1900. Care to take it up?)

So, 'butterflies' get mentioned a lot on this site, which got me thinking. When we talk about 'butterflies flapping around' here, we're just talking about the 'butterfly effect', the manner in which, given time, any POD will have a trickle-down effect which eventually has an impact on anything and everything in the ATL. So, as a bit of a fun challenge, let's make the reference a bit more literal. Can you come up with an engaging, profoundly divergent ATL where the POD is an actual butterfly fluttering around?

If you allow said butterfly to interact with a human being or group of people, you could get much more results, like a critical distraction or a historical personage deciding to turn right instead of left as they're so captivated by the little insect.

a butterfly distracts a couple before they make love. the few seconds difference means that a different sperm fertilizes the egg and their child is completely different to the one who was born otl. you can either remove a very important person or create an entirely new important person.

Butterfly (Though since he was inside a building a moth is more likely) flys in front of Oswald making him misfire and only graze JFK's arm. JFK survives the assassination.

Another thing- the distraction element could work for virtually anything. If it's a driver, passenger or a pedestrian, it could cause a fatal car crash- or indeed avert a collision by distracting a driver or pedestrian, and slowing them down long enough to keep them out of harm's way. Likewise, the butterfly's distraction could facilitate/prevent people meeting friends or romantic partners, getting employed, getting assaulted, raped or murdered, getting killed in combat; what can't you add to this list?
