AH Challenge Russia sells Alaska to its British friends

Ah challenge

There are plenty of Alaska threads around here. But how is this for a twist?
In OTL in the 1860’s the Russians were friendly with the Americans but hostile toward the British. Therefore Alaska was sold to the Americans and not the British.

The challenge is make the British the friends of the Russians and the Americans the enemy. Resulting in the Russians selling Alaska to the British.

At the very least, you'll need Britain changing sides in the Crimean war.

Actually Russia offered Alaska to Britain, which rejected the offer after which it was offered to the USA*.

*My memory may be playing me false they may have offerd it to Britain and the USA simultaneously.

They s=wanted to start a bidding war between GB and the US, friends had nothing to do with it, it was strictly business. Unfortunately no one cared enough.

They wanted to start a bidding war did they offer the land to anybody else ??

Just thinking of a French or German Alaska and how that would go down with the U.S and or Britain. If anything might bump up the price.
