  1. Could the Japanese hold onto korea indefinitely?

What's going on in the rest of the world? If the USA and Japan are at peace, the world has to be a mighty different place.
  2. AHC : Belgium holds onto all or part of the Congo .

I agree. Outside of outright war, Belgium is losing control of the Congo eventually. Especially in a timeline with WW2 in it.
  3. Poll ,Best Colonial Empire .

Really quite impressive, don't you think?
  4. No Japanese Invasions of China and Korea

I would imagine Toyotomi control over Japan would be stronger, the clans most loyal to the Toyotomi were the ones severely weekend by the invasions.
  5. What if GMC makes cars

There was the concept GMC Granite, nothing ever came of it but it's the most car-like GMC that comes to mind with a possibility of actually making it into production...
  6. Do away with cars

Cars are awesome. You can't get rid of them because of the sheer awesomeness they exude. The ability to go wherever you want whenever you want without being at the mercy of someone else is something even the most robust public transportation system cant match. Less roads? More SUVs earlier on...
  7. How could John Kerry run a better campaign in 04?

Ohio Ohio Ohio...man would have been president had he done 2 points better.
  8. Romney wins 2008 election?

Had Kerry beat Bush by winning Ohio(he only lost it by 2) Bush would have won the popular vote so the argument that the America populace voted W. out doesn't hold as much water IMO.
  9. Romney wins 2008 election?

Would be interesting if W. tried again. I assume in such a scenario where Kerry wins, Ohio goes blue and Bush wins the popular vote. He would certainly have support for another go just like Gore before him and could clear both McCain and Romney from the primary. He could run on a platform of...
  10. AHC: Great Power Spain

Does anyone think Spain could be turned around post Napoleonic wars?
  11. Denmark rule of Schleswig and Holstein

I was under the impression Schleswig was already controlled by the Danish at the time it was made a duchy.
  12. Hitler dog captured by the soviets

No way is that dog getting out of Germany alive, not even as a trophy for Stalin.
  13. What would be a good peace after WWI?

Thank you for explaining, makes alot more sense now.
  14. What would be a good peace after WWI?

And allowing them to keep more territory and maintain their monarchy* wouldn't reduce any of this sentiment? *Im not entirely clear on Charles the first and his decision to abdicate.
  15. What would be a good peace after WWI?

That doesn't make any sense to me, did the Austrians really just see themselves as German? Had the last 43 years not created some semblance of a separate national identity?
  16. Which year did the Roman Empire fall?

The territory of Nicaea was held by an unbroken(somewhat) line of emperors who began in Rome, Charlemagne or the Ottomans cant claim that, the Byzantines and by extension the Nicaeaians can. Culturally I know they had little to do with Rome but politically it becomes alot more complicated which...
  17. What would be a good peace after WWI?

Im of the opinion that a stronger Austria is needed to counteract the Germans. Also keeping the monarchy in some fashion so Austrians feel like they have some nation identity and not just a German state separated from the mother country. Just my two somewhat informed but not really cents.
  18. Which year did the Roman Empire fall?

Alot of people say the fall of Rome was 1204. Im personally inclined to say 1453. Question though for any expert, what did the emperors of Nicaea call themselves? If they continued to call themselves roman emperors than shouldn't the Empire of Nicaea's 57 years of existence just be considered an...
  19. AHC: Landlocked United States

Does bordering the great lakes count? First revolution gets crushed but another one happens later down the line and further west.
  20. Which country was more powerful in 1700: Tokugawa (Japan) or Qing Empire (China)?

Yeah, being completely isolated from the world for a 100 years is going to weaken you some so I definitely have to go with the Qing.
