WI: Arthur Tudor survives, becomes king

It's that same old thread again. Arthur recovers from his illness alongside his bride, Katherine. In 1509 they become king and queen. Let's say these are the children they have.

Elizabeth (b. 1502)
Ferdinand (b. 1503)
Jasper (b. 1505)
Maria (b. 1506)
Margaret (b. 1508)
John (b. 1510)

What butterflies would this cause? Who are the children likely to wed?

Interesting idea, though I’m not sure Arthur will name his eldest son and heir Ferdinand. That IMHO is more likely for a younger son. Henry, Edward or Arthur are more likely, even John or Richard.

Elizabeth (b. 1502)

Margaret (b. 1508)
John (b. 1510)
Family tree's looking lit for Arthur and Catalina ITTL.
However, Maria would be Mary in English and Ferdinand? I mean Jasper is somewhat plausible in honor of Henry VII's uncle Jasper but Ferdinand in honor of King Ferdinand II & V? There has to be some reason for Catalina to name her boy that.

Elizabeth will probably marry Charles V, but Ferdinand (who's definitely will be called Henry or Edward) could possibly marry an Austrian archduchess—Eleanor
(b. 1498), Isabella (b. 1501) or Catherine (b. 1507). Or, if his sister Elizabeth is already marrying into Austria, a Portuguese infanta—Isabel (b. 1503) or Beatriz (b. 1504).

For the second son, a name like Arthur, Edmund or even John, would be more appropriate, Jasper Tudor died when Arthur was a child and they're unlikely to have had any close connection (same thing with Ferdinand being chosen for the firstborn). That said, he could possibly marry a minor French, German or Italian princess.

Mary could marry into Portugal also, to João III or into France as second wife of François I. Margaret will go to Scotland, to her cousin James V. And lastly, John could join to church or end up in a domestic match, with an English noble woman.

I know Maria is Mary in English, but I was thinking Katherine would honor her sister that way...
Ferdinand is really just to honor her father, although tbh yeah it's unlikely, and also to metaphorically thumb her nose at the ambassadors who opposed her presence...

I mean, for all we know, Arthur's fully okay with his wife naming the eldest son/heir since she did all the work giving birth to the kid (and we assume he named Elizabeth). That being said you're right

I was thinking that John would likely wed Jane Seymour and Jasper wed Renee of France...true about the name though I did use John.

Elizabeth (b. 1502)
Elizabeth would marry Charles V here.
Ferdinand (b. 1503)
As others have said this name is unlikely, but regardless of the name, Ferdinand likely marries Beatrice of Portugal or Isabella of Austria.
Jasper (b. 1505)
Elizabeth Grey, Viscountess Lisle makes the most sense as the only major English heiress from this period.
Maria (b. 1506)
An alt son of Louis XII or James IV of Scotland.
Margaret (b. 1508)
If Louis XII has a son, Margaret will marry into Scotland. If not I suppose she could marry a powerful nobleman, maybe the Duke of Bourbon if he stills revolts in the 1520s.
John (b. 1510)
Anne Bourchier or Katherine of Willoughby would be the best brides for John, though he’d have to wait a while. Anne of Cleves also works as a foreign match.

Jane Seymour was the daughter of an untitled nobleman and so isn’t could enough for a Prince. The marriage could occur because as a love match though. Renee isn’t marrying an English Prince, since Jasper isn’t good enough. There’s also the fact that Renee has a claim to Brittany and won’t be marrying anyone who can fight for it. An English heiress or German Princess is a likelier bride for Jasper and John.

I suppose butterflies could ensure Louis/James have a son, but if they don't...
Yeah the name is unlikely, I'm going off of "Arthur lets his wife name one kid" which is not particularly probable but eh. Why is Jasper going to go for an heiress ?? Is there no lower-ranking archduchess or something lol. Who knows. Jane could be John's second/third wife I suppose, after his first wife pops out a good amount of kids, but who knows. What German princess their age is available for Jasper and John? Anne of Cleves is a bit too young
