What is your preferred name of the Philippines
Katagalugan/Selurong(Seludong/Saludong alt. spellings in Malay)
In context, Malay Historians use to call Luzon as Selurong while Moro historians refer to the people of Luzon as Tagalogs so basically in the same context, Katagalugan = Selurong, it is the preferred name of Bonifacio in the Philippines and the Majapahit and Ancient Malays called Luzon as Selurong.

Eastern Bruneian Empire

Maharlika
The name Preferred by Ferdinand Marcos.

Philippines or Filipinas
the OTL name.

Malaysia, because why stop at having flags be too similar (thanks Chad and Romania). Also because I find it amusing that Malaysia adopted the name while the Philippines was mulling over adopting it for themselves.

I'd go with the origin of the word "Luzon" - Lusong
It looks cool in on itself(like "Song" for China) and when latinised you get Lusonia which is nice sounding too

I really would like if the Philippines to do what Indonesia did, and renamed the islands to their Malay or Native names, although the former Portuguese parts of Indonesia did not get their names back.

I used the "Maniolas" in one ATL I laid out since supposedly that was the term in European Antiquity for the archipelago. Even if it's a bunch of nonsense, it isn't much different than how Madagascar was a misnomer that Early Modern Europeans applied to the island that came from the port of Mogadishu far to the north in Somalia.

OTL Philippines, Pilipinas or Filipinas. Others usually sounds like some conspiracy theory invented by some ultranationalists which I grew sick and tired of.

As a person who is half-Filipino, I couldn't imagine it any other way than the OTL name of Philippines. I heard a few people wanted the name Rizalia, after José Rizal, but I couldn't imagine calling myself "Rizalian"

I don't have any problem with the Philippines though an alternate name would be interesting to use in a more successful Philippines TL.

The colonial-imposed borders kind off give me a bad feeling, I think Visayans and Mindanaoans should be given a referrendum, I prefer if the Philippines at least copy Indonesia where they at least restored the Precolonial Place names.

I blame the American colonization for interrupting that kind of progress.

Honestly nothing bad about just keeping Philippines. Its a name that gives some history and geography, the Isles of Philip. It tells the story of how King Philip of Spain, conquered the disparate Isles. Those other Pre-colonial names are harkening to a time, wherein there existed no unified Philippine identity only disparate warring tribes.
