What if Pinochet won the Chilean National Plebiscite in 1988?

As Pinochet only lost by 4% of the vote, and this could be attributed to poor campaigning by the Yes campaign, assuming Yes had a better run campaign and perhaps a poorer run campaign by No, what if Yes had won the election and Pinochet had been President until 1996? Only one other former Latin American Dictator has won a democratic election (Getulio Vargas) would Pinochet's image today be viewed more positively if he had won? What would be the main differences in Chile?

The margin of No victory was more than that. He would need ever ninth person who voted No to vote Yes.

There would likely be claims of vote rigging. Those who hate him would still probably hate him. Those who like him would just have an argument extra.

Ortega won a bunch as well. Batista did also, but that was before he became a dictator. I think that some would consider Fujimori to be a dictator as well.

Opposition surely would make work of Pinochet's regime very difficult. I think that Chile would be even shittier place and might be that government try avenge them who voted "No".
