The Dead Bull Moose: What if Theodore Roosevelt was assassinated in 1912

Teddy Roosevelt was famously subject to an assignation attempt on October 14, 1912. In OTL he famously finished his speech, what if instead that bullet had killed him?

Well the progressive campaign is dead without him. The progressive party convention met on August 5th and they might emergency nominate Hiram Johnson as their nominee but really it was the party of Roosevelt and without him it would loose almost all of its steam. This likely means a narrow Taft victory in the 1912 election against Wilson.
