Hoxha builds (failed) ice-cream shops

Icecreameries have a long a disreputable reputation with the left. Especially their economic failures. Stirner. Goldman. Castro.

Enver Hoxha was a…unique character. Given the independence of his party and their essential status as a nationalist clique, Hoxha has freedom to do really stupid shit. Bunkers for example. But what if Hoxha had chosen Ice-cream shops. Despite the gross underdevelopment of Albania, what if dairies, fridges, electricity had become essential. Instead of the nuclear war, the nuclear peace would demand ostensible signs of prosperity, thus icecream available to every albanian on a social basis.

Why does it seem impossible when the irresponsible spending is non-military?

Because fear is a primal and more powerful motivation then hubris. Besides, are we sure having an overabundance of ice cream nation wide is so terribly irresponsible?

If you want Communist ice cream, you need a big, big dairy industry to get collectivized really quickly and converted to making something that can turn a profit—so, probably not an orthodox ML state.

Hmm...what about Yugoslavian ice cream? Did Yugoslavia have a significant dairy industry?

Edible clay. Does not spoil or melt. Can easily be scooped. Comes in several attractive earth tone colors resembling chocolate, vanilla, and butter brickle, but without wasting hard currency on importing of decadent flavorings from oppressed tropical nations.

Anyone who say it tastes bad is counterrevolutionary and will be forced to work double shift at local People's Glorious Ice Cream Bunker.

Well Stirner and Goldman started the tradition of them failing. So I felt that failure was part of the hubris of setting up an ice cream store.

think about how “the show” always succeeds in the American movie due to tradition.
