How to get Greater Malaysia/Indonesia?

Any POD is fine, nation can be formed either natively or as a result of colonialism. What are some methods to get a Greater Indonesia, with the territories of modern Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Papua New Guinea, and (maybe) the Philippines under one flag?

Perhaps you could have the British seize the Dutch East Indies during the Anglo-Dutch Wars or have another war break out between Britain and the Netherlands.

Hmmm. Maybe something with the Japanese? The Thai get back all the land they had on the Malay peninsula and the remainder of it gets added to the Japanese colony.

Have the Dutch win the Battles of La Naval, and you have the Philippines as a province of Indonesia. Or have the Spaniards crush the Dutch and remain in personal union with Portugal, and you have a Spanish East Indies that rules all of Nusantara.

Or this. Tho' I was thinking something along the lines of Japan going on its own Age of Discovery and seafaring daimyos taking over most of the region, eventually consolidating under one flag.
